Yeah 10000000% the infrastructure isn’t even close to being there to support all vehicles going electric. And they aren’t improving the situation they are actually making it much worse. They are cutting off real power producers to go “green” on unreliable uneven power supplies that won’t work in huge parts of the world when they at the same time are trying to force everyone on the planet to go electric. Just look at California having yearly blackouts because they are killing off their actual power producing sources or the EU shutting down their nuclear power plants so they can be slaves to Russia as perfect examples of bad choices being displayed for you to see. Electricity isn’t just magically green because it’s for an EV. Your smart car is full of minerals that are mined and the electricity is powered by fossil fuels. The EU/US just pretend to go green and stop our oil production so then we can posterize to ppl who pretend to care about the environment while they take private jets to their many mansions around the globe, and then we have to buy dirty oil from the worst people on the planet. Just look at Russia’s economy it is completely built on selling oil to the west. We are directly financing the attacks on Ukraine, fun times for all going green is great! If anyone would pull their head out of @$$ for a min we would all be going into nuclear energy to produce actually strong electricity and upgrade the entire electrical grid then you could actually have all vehicles go EV. But yeah know, Greta probably would be mad or something.View attachment 345112
Have you seen the latest about Russia funding lots of green/anti nuclear propaganda in the West? Gotta keep us dependent on what they have to sell. I wonder if Greta knows that she's a Russian stooge? It might even **** her off. More. I think she might be a crazed sociopath thrilled to find a socially acceptable outlet for her rage. Or she might be so brainwashed that she believes what she's saying. Dunno. I wonder if she'll look back in twenty years and be proud or ashamed.

My wife has a tesla model 3 and she loves it but in the winter on highways it uses battery much quicker than I'd prefer. She has a heavy foot and that doesn't help but range anxiety is a thing. The superchargers are everywhere and can recharge quickly. I have a deposit on a lowly 800 hp hummer, but haven't decided on it yet.
How long is “quickly”? And is it to full charge or a portion?

A DC fast charger can give 100-200 miles of range in 30-40 minutes of charge depending on the KWH rate it charges. Electify America is spending millions/ billions on mitigation funds and VW is dividing that money up for each state. On top of that the infrastructure bill includes millions of dollars in incentives and tax breaks for EV research and development.

I know you all like the gas and its 5 dollar a gallon price tags but EVs can charge at home for 8-10 bucks to 80 percent.

Just so you know if it worked so well and was so cheap the government wouldn’t have to subsidize it.

Also your last statement just makes you sound like an ignorant fool. Enjoy the kool aid broski.

Depends on whom you electrcity provider is, as I assume a National Average of 11-13 cents a KWH but on the western states those rates are much higher.

Don’t think that will go up as more people purchase EV’s and need to charge them?

They say microchips but that doesn't have anything to do with it, honestly. How many smartphone shortages is there? None

This is an effort to hasten the end of the ICE vehicles and help usher in a new EV future. Honestly, I would buy EV or Hybrid Bronco right now because that is the future. ICE motors are going to be a thing of the past and the FUTURE is EVs whether everyone likes it or not.

I’m sorry you feel this way. Most semiconductors are made in Taiwan. They retooled to shift production to the consumer electronics industry once covid hit. They anticipated people wouldn’t be buying cars but rather mobile/entertainment electronics but that isn’t the case. This is why cars and trucks are hard to find but you can get an 80 inch 4k smart tv at BestBuy for 399 bucks. Most vehicles have extremely and intentionally “outdated” chips since they need to be reliable and sometimes redundant. The tooling doesn’t cross over from a smart phone CPU to a x86 class ECU controller.

It’s simply a matter of retooling to shift production back to the automotive industry, which is easier said than done.
