When I went back out to the truck after typing that message today it wasn't doing it. Tough to get a dealer to diagnose a sound I've only heard one time. Don't know about others, but mine is not in the driveline as it did it at idle-in park. I'm wondering if the theory of the starter not fully disengaging has merit. SOund is coming from the right place.

They uninstalled the starter on mine. On the part that connects to the engine (this star with teeth), was absolutely no sign of grinding. No scratches, dents or marks. But as i said. This dealer got a brand new raptor r today and it does the same sound. Ford mexico doesnt accept my video as a proof for a problem…..

Mine is going to the dealer tomorrow morning, but, on cold start this morning, the pinging noise was very light in park. Discovered that the pinging noise gets loud braking in reverse, and accelerating forward. Noise clears up completely after about 4 minutes.
