Come to think of it, the reverse could be true as well - radiant heat from the radiator may prevent the lights from shedding heat.

As far as how bright these lights are... yeah they are a lot brighter than your average 30" and 40" combo. You can get very bright bars don't get me wrong but this would be a lot of light. If you go by the specs on the Whelen website these are 7300 lumen per light.

•Available in 12 or 24 VDC.
•Single lamp SlimLine contains 12 LEDs, draws 3 amps and provides 3600 usable lumens at 38 watts.
•Dual lamp SlimLine contains 24 LEDs, draws 6 amps and provides 7300 usable lumens at 76 watts.
•Five year HDP® Heavy-Duty
•Professional Warranty.

If anyone gets the chance to see a Whelan led in comparison to any other led bar and you will see a huge difference long story short my next led light will be a whelen or however it is spelled

Don't get me wrong guys I'm sure these are great lights but how expensive are they, what about a price to Lumen comparison, for example a single D2 with 6 LED's is 3030 Lumens and a Rigid RDS roof mount bar is 40500 Lumes.

I have led lights from other companies with similar lumen ratings. There is no comparison in output. Ratings are not the same across the board at all. Other companies make good lights too. These just put out a ton compared to their ratings. Personally I have compared 4 D2 to 2 micro Pioneer and the 2 win hands down. According to rated lumen it should be the other way around by a lot.

The difference may be that between lumens and lux.
KC explains that lumens is what the emitter (bulb or LED) emits, and lux is the measured intensity at a certain distance. I understand it to be the difference between potential and actual.

Well boys and girls I have been given the go ahead to post this time. After a lot of talk and co operation WSI has made the coolest damn bracket ever made. ***** manly yo. I will be sporting it at snoball as well

KUDOS to WSI - they've done a great job with a creative, new concept for Raptor lighting!

Terrific work and bonus points for coming up with a new solution to what Raptor owners perceive to be a problem (never enough lighting).
