Any good trails open in tahoe during snow season...?

planning a trip to santa rosa to pick up a puppy, figured id make a trip out of it...

This thread makes me so happy but also sad that we dont get that much snow around NYC, and the snow that we get is heavily salted and plowed away fast. Hoping to go up north this winter for some proper snow fun.

I've found alot of trails in Tahoe are closed for the winter. Mormon Emigrant trail is popular for snow offroading. Its off of 50 towards South Lake Tahoe. We were there couple weeks ago, decent snow, alot of ice, and slush when it was raining.

agreed. You just need to find a service road not a real trail since they will be open and unplowed

Got to drive to the Raptor around Buffalo the past 10 days in Buffalo for work related to site audits for a client in a rain/sleet/snow mix - it handled it better than this Southern boy did (okay, I'm used to it but the rest of the stupid drivers make it a challenge).
