Seriously? With the tires Ford puts on them stock, you'd probably get about as much traction in the snow out of a pair of racing slicks!

So, the back story. My dad and I are out to the farm today. He's got a King Ranch. We've been gone for a couple weeks so there is a fair amount of snow still in the yard, which he manages to get stuck in.

Now, the snow is fairly old and was actually melting down today. Long story short, it wasn't that deep where he got stuck. 5-6" tops. Normally, not an issue. Pop it in 4 wheel and drive right out, but the tires on his truck do nothing but spin!

So, I did what any good son would do. I drove my Raptor in obnoxiously slow circles around his King Ranch while he's rocking it back and forth and slowly making progress towards regaining traction! :lol2:

Anyway, I thought it was funny. Hahaha.

Seriously though, why would Ford put stock tires with such little tread on a truck that is, supposedly, the "King of the Ranch"? Makes zero sense to me...

I have a KR with 20's. They put the crappy Pirelli Scorpions ATR on them. They are good street tires but thats about it.

People drive vehicles in conditions their tires aren't designed for. And then are surprised when the vehicle doesn't perform well.

I wonder why they make street tires, snow tires, off road tires, and mud tires?

That sucks man! My buddy picked up a platinum f-250 and its a tow rig. He took it Offroad once to see what it was capable of. Lol not much. Nice truck though not my cup of tea. It is absolutely beauty of a truck haha.

My buddy got his 05 powerstroke stuck in the snow, I had to pull him out with my worn out general grabbers. Idk if its the raptors advancetrac system or what but his f250 has 97% tread left on toyo m/t 35's.

I played in the snow those few days Alabama got a "blizzard" lol

the King of the Ranch sits around in his leather couch on wheels watching his vatos do shit like get stuck in mud

of course the King is going to want the quietest, best riding street tires on his truck, wrapped around his blang blang wheels.

but thats not really what King Ranch means.

MMD is right, understand the equipment on your vehicle and what its limits are, and drive accordingly

Factory tire choice has to do with load rating. Plus I don't know of many trucks that have all terrains from the factory. Mine f350 has michelins. It's 4x4 but it's a hwy truck and I treat it as so.

The wife's FX4 came with Goodyear SRA's, they worked pretty well in the snow...when we had snow.... anyway, last year we pulled a Toyota out who had made a wrong turn and was stuck up to his bumpers, so for me those stockers did OK.
