At the dealership that I bought my Raptor from all five trucks lost the spare wheels one night and they did not have the device to lower the tire, they don't need it simply cut the cable. They don't want the whole truck they want your spare tire. That lock is no deterrent to them, just a joke.

Yes I'm sure NO thiefs want the whole truck, they ONLY want the spare tires. Back to my exact original point, theft deterrents won't stop everyone, but they do stop a lot of idiots out there who aren't "pro's"

Who really reads the owners manual? I'm waithing for the Movie or the cliff notes to come out. I'm just saying! What are the chances that the key will be fozen when you get a flat in the middle of no where on a cold winter night? If anyone is familiar with a 72 Vette, they have a key in the middle of the back end above the license plate. I had news tires put on mine, and watched the tire changer trying to open the trunk to get to the spare. In case you don't know 72 vette's have no Trunks. Anyone know what that key is for??????????

Odds of the lock being frozen up are probably zilch. The cap snaps on pretty tight, doubtful any water is going to get into the key cylinder.

And google search says the key on the rear of a 72 vette was for the alarm???

I would love to see Ford put Owner's Manuals as video and put it in OEM NAV. So owners can search for a specific topic with animation.

Another feature that Ford should do is to allow OEM NAV to connect to home wireless. So owners can plan their trip and upload routes to OEM NAV and ready to go instead of put in address or destinations manually.

Unique1, brilliant idea!

Reptor, actually, just last week I had to hammer my father-in-laws plug out because it was jammed. When we got it out, the whole mechanism had been fouled by dust. Now, he owns a concrete plant, so he works in an environment that has very fine dust blowing around all day everyday, but still, those plugs do get jammed up. We ended up just leaving it off. He has flats at the ranch on a monthly basis.

I was ready to laugh at this thread still being "new" - I mean what more info could there be about the "keyhole" but sure enough the topic lives on with some interesting comments. :waytogo:
