What kind of jack does everyone like to carry for their Gen2?

Looking at high lifts, it doesn’t seem like there’s any good side lift points as I know the running boards aren’t real rock sliders. Also the safety concerns with a high life are a smidge worrisome. But for those who run them, have the front and rear tow hooks sufficed for you? Any regrets?

Bottle jack seems more feasible but for anyone who’s ran one, any regrets with those?

Curious on what everyone runs and why? I’m in Florida so off-roading is mostly flat dirt/mud/sand. Very little rocks to crawl or dunes to shred through.

I’ve seen lots of desert guys with the camper leveling scissor jacks bolted on their bed cages. Seems more practical than a hi lift, but slower. I haven’t used one for offroad, so there could be some drawbacks I’m not aware of. I would figure you’d want to make a cradle for the axle or frame.

Everyone seems to love the pro-eagle jacks, they’re $$$$ but are very heavy duty & def mad time be used offroad w/ big wheels/wide footprint.

other issue - w/ the tucked in “longer travel” suspension, 35”s & increased ride height even stock- I found it VERY difficult to get the truck raised high enough in front @ the recommended factory jacking point to my liking- used a 3.5 ton harbor freight low profile jack (junk ImO)

I haven’t pulled trigger on the pro eagle jack as I don’t offroad much- instead I’m thinking of getting a scissor lift since I have a vette I like to work on & don’t wanna take up the space (or spend the $$) on a 2 post or 4 post hydraulic lift in garage.

The Pro-Eagle jack is cool, but heavy and expensive. As for the long travel issue, I end up using a ratchet strap around the frame and axle on my Bronco to strap the axle in place. With 17” of travel up front and 9” of that being down a 48” hi lift off the frame doesn’t get the tires off the ground without strapping.

I use the 3 ton pro eagle off road jack, but the other posters are correct. It is heavy and cumbersome to get in an out of the bed. It's amazing as a jack, especially if in soft sand or dirt, etc. The other downside is that it's expensive, but it's the only jack I use in my shop and on all other cars.

What mount is this?

When I originally posted I was straying from an eagle jack simply because of the bulky space it takes up and the boxy mounts I’ve seen that rob too much flat bed space if you need it for normal truck stuff. That’s why I had in my head either bottle jack for how compact they are, or high lift being able to mount to the side of the bed rail for example. This is intriguing though.

DAMN that is a solid sales pitch! NO WAY I could do that w/ my harbor freight or old goodyear jack

And the jack is barely breaking a sweat. Can get it much higher. It's the extension that is the magic though. Makes rotating tires a breeze.

The Pro Eagle has 2 parts to the mount if you want to mount it to the bed. First, you need the JDS Customs mount to bolt the the bed of the truck:
https://www.jdscustoms.com/product/ford-raptor-gen-2-pro-eagle-big-wheel-base-plate-mount-kit/
Then you need ProEagles Jack mount that attaches to the JDS mount.

Keep in mind what I linked is to the 2 ton jack, which is what I have. I believe both also make mounts for the 3 ton jack as well. Also, I mounted the JDS mount plate UNDER my bed rug so it is hidden.

^^^ THIS! Well worth the money. I have the 3-TON version. Best jack I have ever owned. This type of jack really shines for when you are off-road.
