GEN 2 Issues fixed in 2020?

Dont think 2020's are much different. Can still have issues. Seems to be luck of the draw. My 2017 has been bullet proof. I think you just got a bad one. Seems to happen with Ford

Do not think swapping oil pans a real option. But my plastic pan has been thru many oil changes and has never leaked

I haven't had any issues with the pan or drain plug - no leaks. I was totally disgusted to find out it was plastic when I did the first oil change. I was like WTF - Really? Plastic POS - I don't think that was born in Baja.

I read some threads that said the engine has to come out to swap the pan, and some that said it didn't. So ????

I have a 2017 screw with around 12,000 miles. I don’t understand what with the cam phaser problem? My runs perfect for now, no issue at all except the transmission is slow going into reverse at time but other then that, it runs great. I also install the Cobb stage 2. Can someone explain to me what happened if the cam phaser goes out.

I thought I watched a YouTube video where the cam phasers chain was made bigger and they added two tensioner instead of one and I think this was around 2016 not sure as my memory is as good as it once was.

So what else needs updating with the cam phasers?

You do not have to pull the engine.

All the issues are hit and miss, and as far as metal oil pan goes, it is not easy as simply swap of pan. Plastic and metal pans have slightly different shape oil lines therefore not interchangeable.
