That I agree on. I have one of these with 440 V8Amen. And nothing will ever be as exciting as a big powerful engine.
What I meant to say is the engines may still being offered, but fewer customers are choosing them. Based on what Ford says, the take rate for the V8 has fallen nearly half in 3 years.
They're certainly pushing the 2.7. I'm a little surprised that more customers don't choose the 5.0 if they want more power, since the 3.5 is a $1600 upcharge. I see all over the internet how bad the Ecoboost is supposed to be, yet more customers keep choosing them.Ford doesn't allow the V8 in the top two packages (Raptor and Platinum) and it's a $1000 upcharge over the 2.7 TT on everything else. I'd bet the 5.0L engine and fuel system is cheaper to produce than the 2.7L TT. Ford is cooking the books for CAFE MPG (and making a ton of profit) by making the less fuel efficient V8 more expensive to buy than the smaller turbo engine.

Seems like the 3.0 which was supposed to be exclusive to Lincoln is making it's way in to Ford's now and possibly replace the 3.5?Agree. I think Ford is pushing the 2.7 in hopes of changing people's minds D's and help forget the 3.5. The 3.5 is going to be used for other things that it's more suited for, but f150 will have the 2.7 base, diesel mid, and 8 cylinder. A hybrid of some sort will fall I there as a special use / fleet model. Thankfully the 3.5 will be out of the f150... Maybe even out production all together.
You also said the Raptor would have a V8 option in late 2017.Yes - the 3.5 is being replaced by the 3L.
