my point was with the truck on the ground, presumably sitting on the tires, you'd need like a 24" extension to get the breaker bar behind the tire. then you're limited on the arc you can do until you hit the fender or the ground. you could eliminate the long extension by going the other way but then you're under the truck and have even less swing clearance. maybe I'm dumb but i feel like its very difficult to torque those nuts with weight on wheels.

I drove 5 miles to the local ford dealership and asked them to torque the lower shock bolts to spec and they did it for free. I have no idea how they did it, on the ground or on a lift but I have not had a single issue in 6 years and 70k miles.

Probably dealer used an impact + or -. When I do it on the ground it’s only to check I use a 1/2 drive 250 set at 150 with extension before and after the multiplier with a led meter . Not hard at all . I would never do the initial torque with the wheel on and I put it under load to stop the flex & bounce. It’s never off just a habit , leaf springs usually need a bump or two .

No absolutely it’s impossible. I used a lift that picked up by the wheels. I was just foolin.
