I drove the Dalton last year and it is worth seeing and doing! There are a ton of other cool places to visit along the way too! We can plan a trip while the salmon are running and cook fresh sockeye and silvers!

I say lets do Wednesday June 21st-June 22nd as the prep/meet up days in Anchorage and Start the 'run' on Friday. This gives people 5-6 days to leave on a Friday/Saturday and make it up by wed/thurs, run for 3-4 days and then another 5-6 for people to get home within an approx 2 week/3 weekend time period.

Anyone else have any thoughts? I'm just throwing out ideas so we can get it planned. We could do the same timeframe but meet up on the July 6th as a lot of people get Monday the 4th off and would be using up a day they already have off?

I would recommend June. We just hit all those places covering 11,000 miles in 47 days through Canada and hit all of Alaska. June is the best month with temperatures and it doesn't rain much. We hit Prudhoe bay around June 10th and hit a snow storm with a mixture of freezing rain around Coldfoot. Windchill was in the teens and the wind was howling in the tundra. The next day it cleared up and was in the 40's the rest of our stay in the arctic circle. Perfect timing because no bugs were out! Overall the weather was great with it being in the 40-50's at night and staying in the 60-70's during the day. Every Raptor owner should try and do this trip because the Raptor handles it fine. I would recommend giving yourself plenty of time because its a lot of ground to cover. Alaska highways are a lot slower then the lower 48 and you have wildlife and a lot of truckers and travelers as well. The mileage isn't to bad, but it will take you longer then what you expect. Places like the Dalton highway are great because there's no cops, so you got no limits.

ALSO YOU BETTER HAVE MUD TIRES OR ELSE YOU WILL DESTROY YOUR TRUCK WITH ROCKS! YOU WOULD BE CRAZY TO RUN THE KO'S ON A TRIP LIKE THIS.

I am all over a trip like this.
Just got my Raptor and cant wait for a good back country trip.
Im up in the wasilla, AK area.
I agree with most of the people on here. June is about the best month. for temp/bugs

Aug is normally full of rain, and would make a trip like this very messy.
a few days up the dalton, and then up into the wrangels, that would make an amazing trip to see some amazing back country in alaska.
