Yeah, that's a good way to avoid a weeks worth of driving in each direction for sure. Last I checked you can get a truck barged up from the Seattle area for about $1500.

Yea, looked into this a couple of years ago when the Raptor Runs first started. Though, I think I would drive it back down for the experience.

I'd love to drive the Alcan for fun. Every time I've been up and down it's been moving in one direction or another.

Id be down for this if its in 2016, Ive been throwing the idea of taking a trip to alaska, and a raptor run would make it even better.
I think at this point that is the plan. Get a good plan going now, do some pre-runs this year and make the real deal happen next year.

Is consensus that June is too early? July or August? August too hot?

June may be great. The weather is usually pretty nice. The main issue is how the roads are up north. If the winter was particularly cold, or more than average snow, or a late spring breakup, they may still be covered or not even open. Or at the least wet and muddy. Late June is the best bet if it needs to be in June. Almost all of July is usually nice. I try to stay home 4th of July weekend though for obvious reasons. August can go either way. It may be very nice, but usually August is when the rain starts so it could be super wet as well. The weather here in general is unpredictable. July just has the greatest potential for clear, warm weather.

I know mosquito can be quite bad up there, is there any better or worse times that we can plan around? I know the wife and I will want to at least be able to walk around some and explore outside of the truck, and I don't want to deal with walls of mosquito if I can help it.
