Just spoke with my agent to get my insurance lined up for my Raptor when it gets in (delivery date pushed back from 21 to 28 March) I have heard some on here say that when they picked up insurance on their rides it showed up as an F150. Not the case here. I gave her my new VIN over the phone, she asked what kind of vehicle, I told her F150. She then said it shows SVT (cash register sound), I replied yes. Then she informs me it says Raptor (double cash register sound), Yes again.

Not sure what those two little words (SVT RAPTOR) will cost me yet. Oh well, anyone else have this happen?

they don't care, it shouldn't matter. it's just an f150 to them. the Platinums cost more than Raptors so you shouldn't pay a premium. My insurance actually went down almost $100 a year from my 07 FJ Cruiser. Don't ask me why.

The agent was the one who pulled the extra info, I wasn't going to fill them in on all the extras.

I never worry about paying insurance. Too many non driving jaggoffs around here to not have good coverage.

Super Truck

My insurance company listed the model as "Super Truck" with that you would think $$$ but as my fourth vehicle on the account it went up very little!

The cost of the vehicle has little to do with the cost of the coverage. Theft rate and claims rate weigh much heavier. Our BMW stickered at $70k and cost less to insure than my 5 year old Tacoma. The VIN tells the insurance company everything they need to know.

Those with some $$ in mods may want to have them added to your policy. If you have a $1500 bumper and a $1200 LED light bar that gets stolen without the added coverage you likely won't be covered.
