just to give an update to everyone, after i got my order in, called the insurance company told them im gonna go from a 99 F-250 XLT to a 2011 F-150... they asked the trim level i said Raptor.... she said thats an SVT Raptor? (im thinking ****!!!!) say yes i think so... my insurance is going up...... from $257 every 6 months (full coverage lowered deductible) to about $350 every 6 months for same policy. so doesnt look like being a Raptor makes a huge difference!

Who are all of y'all getting insurance through? I am with farmers now and got curious and asked for a quote on raptor insurance today and was told somewhere between 700-900 bucks every 6 months... I thought this was a bit high.. I pay a bit more than that for my current truck but with allowances to cover all the modifications. Granted I am still under 25 years old for another year and according to them will have higher premiums until then..

This is a good thread, I was curious what the Raptor would do to my insurance when the day comes. I had gotten lucky with the Trailblazer SS when I purchased insurance it only showed up as a regular Trailblazer. What insurance companies does everyone use? I have Esurance for the SS they came in around $200 cheaper then anyone else. They have been great and I continue to get a cheaper premium every year.

When I called to change from the FX4 to the Raptor the lady had to check on the price because
"that is some kind of race truck". Mine went up about $200 every six months.
I have a clean record and after reading this I may need to change!

I have USAA. I've been a member for about 9 years and have both the Raptor and Mach1 insurance through them. I also finance my home and have it insured through them. One line of credit, checking and savings with USAA as well.

For the Raptor, I pay $634.68 every 6 months.

For the Mach1, I pay $543.90 every 6 months.

A big discount with USAA is Military Service, length of membership and what they refer to as "Premier Driver Discount". (A discount for policies that have a good claims and driving record history. The named insured must have more than 5 years of driving experience.)

That's what I pay being 28 and a decently clean record (misc speeding tickets years ago, etc). I have 100/300 coverage and a $500 deductable on both vehicles and property damage.

I had the same concerns that insurance was going to cost an ass ton

I have State Farm and had or still have 2001 F150 Supercrew 4x4 XLT Lariat.
Called on the Raptor right from the dealer as I was taking delivery , they said ok what you got . As side note I have spoke to my agents office quite a bit over the last year as my house was wacked by a Tornado last August 13th. The gal I have been dealing with is great , she said oh that's a SVT Raptor , I thought **** this is going to hurt. In the end it went up less than $200 a year. I still cannot believe it . 10 years newer and worth 35 plus K more . I was very happy .
I ended up reviewing all my insurance a short time later as a result of rebuilding my house. I added a 1 Million dollar umbrella policy , up my deductable on my home owners from $ 500 to $2500 and my total out of pocket went up $150 a year. This is just awesome. Big driver was not just the experience with the Tornado , but the fact my son will be driving soon and god forbid it be needed but the umbrella policy covers and kicks in on everything I own.
State Farm for me KICKS ASS , they have been just great in taking care of my family. In the end you get what you pay for . I watched many of my neighbor's go through hell , even USAA dragging a 22 year USAF retiree though the mud on getting his house fixed , Horas Mann or however the hell you spell it same thing or worse and the one that really surprised me was one of my neighbor's with Allstate is getting treated like shit.
I will say it again , you get what you pay for .
Sorry for the long ass ramble.

I just bought my 2010 3 weeks ago and traded in my 2009 CTS AWD. I have AAA in MI, have very low deductible and business use on my policy (I drive a lot for work) and my Rap came it at $360 while the Caddy was $495 every 6. I was thrilled but do expect an increase at renewal as I will no longer have a multi-car discount applied.

Going from a 2006 Tacoma to the Raptor my insurance actually went down. The only reason I can think of is that the rate of claims on Tacoma's is high. We are with Metropolitain Property and Casualty. For the Raptor and BMW we pay about $1300/year. We also have our house, bikes, and an umbrella policy through them so that likely helps too.
