I have a progressive policy for my SRT8 with a stated amount of 60K. Its a good amount more then a standard policy but so worth it IMO. I have an insurance agency here in NJ and progressive is one of the companies we rep.

I've been with Allstate for over 30 years. Called my agent to ask this question. Getting back with me.

Correct me if I wrong here though but lets say in the worse case scenario, its your fault and you totaled it. Couldn't you take off all your upgrades and insurance would only need to cover just the ones that were damaged, like perhaps the bumper and/or shock(s)? And not ALL your upgrades therefore full declared value is not needed.

Yeah, not so much if it's stolen, which in a Texas is a pretty big worry

Yeah didn't think of that, very good point.

Allstate agent called me back from this morning. Confirms what Joe found out, they only cover up to $1000 for customization and there are no options to get declared value or an added rider.

^ it's good to know.
My initial thought was what if I hit a deer. Most of my modifications are in the front of the truck. Light bars, suspension, Retrofit heads, etc...

Did your agent offer any solutions?

Yeah, he actually said would have to leave Allstate. He is friends with an agency next door who is a broker and said I could get hold of him to find insurance. I have to imagine that he would have to get some type of kickback referral for him to say that or he was just being flat out honest.

I use GEICO, my total premium is $499 a month for the cars listed below, I spent 30 minutes listing out my Raptor upgrades, and the Raptor is now covered to $90,000 (50 truck, 40 upgrades).

my premium for the Raptor is $61.58 a month, 100/300 full coverage, $1000 deductible.

And I specifically quizzed them about covering my add ons, including stereo, and they said it's covered as I have good documentation, pics and receipts.

Was state farm for 30 years, gave up on them two years ago as they kept jacking my rates for no reason, so far Geico has been excellent.

I'm also with Geico and have all of my aftermarket mods covered including the wrap. Only problem is they wont cover anything that happens while offroading.

Odd they specifically won't cover off road damage. Even AAA was fine with that. Previously had my agent check on off road coverage. All the company's he sells were good with off road. Only issue is no coverage for anything considered a race. They didn't care if it was timed event driven solo or not. Very specific nothing covered at all if damage occurred during a race.
