This is my hate mail I just sent to them..
FYI... main reason I am also posting/sharing here is because the truck went into frckn limp mode the other night because of this valve.
highway travel at average speed of 75-80 for a 6 hour trip. no racing around, no offroading, normal mode.

This issue is wrong on several levels. You advertise that is ok to install on a very expensive and way more complicated system than a regular eco-boost, with absolutely
NO mention of any side effect like this pulsing/ticking. Which, come to find out, is actually part of the
fuel pressure system.
Seriously? How much more cost would it really have been to include a TB spacer plate in this kit?? Or, even better, how about an adapter that emulates the manifold connection and you just stack the connections??? That’s even less cost! You have a lot of unhappy customers with this, and you guys have done nothing to rectify it. Nothing at all except tell everyone that you are “…working on a solution..” When in reality, you are not. Maybe it’s time to get the folks in Australia to own up to this… that’s the main company right?
**Edit- as I have been sitting on this email draft for a while..**
I see now on one of the biggest ford forums that your standard response is just, well, there’s nothing we can do…? Our design is fine. No. No it’s not. When you have every single customer complain about the same thing, it’s not fine. This is not just a standard air/vacuum line. Don’t you think if a rubber hose was fine, they’d use it??
“Thank you for contacting Turbosmart. As our instructions state, after fitting this product there may be an audible ticking noise emitting from the EVAP circuit lines, this is normal as the sound is no longer damped and not a cause for concern. The noise is created by the EVAP solenoid actuating. The OE hard line deadened this noise but the softer silicone hose we provide is able to expand and contract allowing sound to travel through it. We currently do not have a recommendation on how to make the noise go away.”
Great, so now you mention it.. but that would’ve definitely helped my decision ( and probably others.. ) NOT to buy this 300$ sprinkler..
AND
“I wouldn't necessarily say a "better" hose would solve the issue as our hose is perfectly fine for the application. The harder the hose the less noise you would hear because the less the hose can oscillate. You can take a look at the OE line you removed to have an idea of how stiff it would need to be to quiet that noise.”
Not acceptable responses..
So, on top of the annoying sound that resulted in me installing this, I am learning that the line you instruct to cut off, is actually part of the unit you tell us to cut it from…( like the part # is both removed hose AND the valve it’s attached to )?? Again, seriously?
I need several things from Turbosmart:
- The company should be purchasing this hose replacement ( and should be paying for the installation of it.. ) I will take care of the installation, but this company should be sending a replacement. An OEM one, not a generic. Here is the part # JL3Z9B325D it’s less than 50 bucks. Please do the right thing and send this to me….and possibly your other customers..? Again, this side effect was never mentioned, disclosed, and now, not even addressed at all?
This factory part should be sent to me regardless of the more important issue I have now realized with the valve.
- More importantly, either a replacement BOV itself or I will return this all together. This valve is not working properly and caused my Raptor to go into limp mode on the freeway going 75 MPH. at regular throttle, the valve starts to flutter and releases way too often. In fact, all the time. Just normal driving in my neighborhood, with very little throttle, it always releases. This caused a major issue while highway driving. I was going up the 154, which if you know, is a very shallow rise of a grade and this valve kept shuddering and I had to release the throttle often to try and ‘close it’. Which it obviously did not. When I got to the camarillo grade, before I even got to the actual climb, the computer shut it down, hard ( which is how it feels when this happens at highway speed ) and the error code was a torque loss issue. So, turbos build boost, your valve kept letting it go in such a way that the truck thought something was wrong, like really wrong. That’s dangerous at 70 MPH.
I tried to adjust it just last night, and found that it is on the hardest setting already and will not adjust anymore. So this valve is either defective, or just a really poor design that should not be sold to raptor owners if it can’t handle
normal boost situations, much less any eco boost design if you tell them to cut this
fuel pressure reference line off. It has to have some kind of effect on the mapping for the system. Their hose doesn’t just stop the noise, it stops the fluctuation
caused with a
rubber hose. That’s a poor response you guys give with the “ our hose is fine and another one wouldn’t necessarily be “better”. No, it’s not fine.
Here’s what were gonna do.
Either:
Turbosmart is going to send replacement parts or new valve assembly (exchange, will send back other one) to fix the problem of letting too much air release/fluttering on highway—bigger problem ( heard it’s shipped several times without some internal seals/o-rings etc ???? )… AND send the replacement factory hose assembly ( or you can send some of payment back and I will purchase it, either way, you should be taking care of replacing this line. And will take care of TB spacer or something else..
OR
Just send the factory replacement hose and I will remove this BOV entirely and send back for full refund.
Which will also cost a half day’s labor no matter which way it goes, so another thing to consider this product is causing beside horribly confusing the truck into limp mode.
Thank you,
David

Subject: Re: TSUTS-0215-1371 BOV PULSE ISSUE
Hello,
We are still searching for a proper solution however without an R&D vehicle it makes things difficult. The sounds is really just due to the flexible silicone hose allowing sound to resonate through it by expanding and contracting. In theory a stiffer hose would be helpful in masking the noise.

Would like to know if there is any progress in solving the pulsing ‘sprinkler’ noise from the install of the BOV.
I have spoken to Richard last month and he did said ‘we are working on a solution…’
So, just wanted to check in and see if you guys have come up with anything yet.. thanks in advance.

Hello David,
I am sorry to hear that our product did not meet your expectations. If you are seeking a refund you will need to contact the place of purchase for further assistance.
Really? and how is the 3rd party seller going to handle this?
I sure hope someone from their company scans the forums and sees this shit.
