Yeah...I've been lucky that they've all been spaced far enough apart that I've been able to defensive driving or differed disposition to keep them all off of my driving record.

Bo, would you mind posting pictures of how your have yours mounted in the front and rear. I'm curious to see how stealthy yours is setup.

There are pics of the mounted equipment in post #1 (interior display and controller) and post #44 (components) of this thread.

Let me know if you need something else though.

Might as well throw in my ****** install. The intent was to keep it as stealth as reasonably possible. Since the initial install, I've added a second LED to the instrument cluster for better visual response. I am also looking at moving the threat indicator to inside the rear view mirror. It will be visible "only" while active.

Very stealthy install as well. I'm just concerned about the rear mounted shifter...does it still adequately protect you being tucked away like that and what are the risks of it getting damaged down there?

That being said I love the install and especially like the front bracket for the two front shifters.

police officers are trained to aim at you license plate. so having the rear shifter there is the best spot. since lidar only works from a front to back (or back to front) angle they use the license plate because they know it is a flat surface.

police are trained to first aim at the license plate and if a fault occurs aim at the headlight, it needs a reflective surface to work. Getting caught by the fuzz in blocker mode is a real bad no no.... Keep your mute so close to your hand it just takes a flick of the wrist to hit mute..... I have a friends brother in law who has told me he is on the hunt for anyone using blockers......

As nobusa and Icebreaker noted, police will typically target the license plate (front or rear) and in some cases headlights. Therefore, locating the diffusers as close to these locations will give you the best results. Having the diffusers mounted proud of those surfaces will also give the best possible performance. The downside to having the diffusers sitting out in front of the license plates or grilles is that they become very obvious.

The good news is that moving the diffusers back a bit does not significantly reduce their effectiveness. For this reason, I'm very comfortable with where they are located on my Raptor and my other vehicles.

Some will challenge my statement that not having the diffusers mounted proud of the license plate or grille does not significantly reduce performance. I based my opinion on having the opportunity to test several vehicles with various diffuser locations and multiple types of LIDAR speed guns (its good to have friends in law enforcement).

Yep like you I did get to test several and different radar guns... Radar took on average about 4 seconds to lock, lidar down to about 1 second, what does this mean? If you use the diffuser in jammer mode and get caught you will probably loose your vehicle... at the very least a ticket about the cost of one of these trucks.... So be careful and, to be honest hiding the diffuser makes more sense than to have it where it can be seen easily... But being able to turn it off quickly is just as important... Remeber when jamming your broadcasting in a police band while driving.... It jams constantly so be very aware of whats going on, keep the panic buttn in reach,,,,,
