Ok...so what are the plans for the hyper flash in blinker?

For the front you don't need anything.

The rear....TBD. I bought both 25w and 50w resistors. I'll try a pair of 25w first. Then four 25w. If that isn't enough I'll swap in a single pair of 50w, so I'll have two 25w and two 50w. And lastly if that doesnt work I'll swap them out so it's four 50w. I'd rather use the least possible though, the lower the resistor the less the heat, and the less power draw for when the lights are on and the truck isn't running.

If I am reading this right, you are saying that one does not need resistors for the front blinkers/turn signals? Please confirm. Thanks

If only doing the fronts, I did NOT need anything... it flashed fine the whole time. BUT Fred put some in and was good for a couple days then one side started the hyper flash.

Fixing to go outside and toss some flashers on. Also going to temp install my 2013 black stock headlights, I believe I got all details ironed out and should just plug into the stock harness... Total cost, $350. If it works, new thread in store on that project.

I'll report back.

A Pair of 2W Amber 4 SMD LED T10 Vehicles Cars Interior Lamps Lights Bulbs A2 | eBay

or do u think the ones in the OP are better?

Those are definitely brighter, but then again... it may have hot spots though, only one way to find out, test 'em! :)

Just tried the 6ohm 50w resistors, nada... I didn't realize both top and bottom flash and I'd assume they're also both brake lights if that's true too? I wired both my 6ohm in parallel, just to verify 3ohm would work and it does. So off to buy some 3ohms and in mean time I pulled the LEDs, I can't stand the hyper flash....don't want people on the road to think I'm half assing it.

$350?!??! OEM 2013 black headlights?! Definitely need details on that!

Correct.

Okay I did my testing on the brightest puddle lamp option, the 16 3528 31mm LEDs do throw more light than the 6 5050 31mm LEDs. Which makes sense now digging into it more. Seems the 5050 are twice as bright as 3528's. So 12 3528 should be equivalent to 6 5050, so with the 16 3528's on the 31mm LED, it makes sense they are brighter.

Comparison pics....handy dandy CTEK charger on power supply mode makes quick work for testing them out!

Resized to pretty small, but gives you the idea. Even though the true comparison is for the last 2 (two right ones) since it's the two options for the puddle lamps, I took pics of 4 different LEDs for a good comparison of brightness.

Size 74 LED (Visor) --- Size 194 LED (Front Dome) --- Size 31mm 6-5050 LED (Mirror Puddles Option 1) --- Size 31mm 16-3528 LED (Mirror Puddles Option 2)

I'll take similar pics once my reverse/cargo lights come in.

Badass! Thanks for sharing!

For some reason I thought the 5050 had 3-chip LEDs inside it all of which were in comparison (or hell maybe even are) to 3528's.

Dust boots for 2013 black headlights due in today, everything else is done other than soldering the harness connector onto the modified 2-wire connector that goes into the stock solenoid plug inside the housing. I tested the solenoids already and they work, but true test will be actually on the truck. Probably no thread till Thursday, but I'll post a quick picture tonight for anyone curious to see how the 194 & 3157 bulbs look inside a 2013 housing, lol.

With the 2013 black headlights, I would like a darker signal area.... I don't think I want to tint it, yet... but wonder if a bulb with a black circuit board would make much difference than how it is now.. Any one want to try?!?! lol

Please announced my 2013 worked perfect and operated like stock. No cutting wires inside housing or on truck, total cost $350! They are used housings and need a little TLC with some 1000+ grit sandpaper, couple compounds and plastic polish but hard part is done!

Looks nice...also like not seeing the fried egg in the amber blinkers...
