Dumb question, did you use the SDHQ Frame supports in the frame with the bump stop kit?

No I removed that. I still think the SDHQ frame support kit is the best $100 you can spend on your Raptor, but I decided to kick it up a notch.

I would say if you have Icon shocks and want a bump stop kit this is the only way to go because of the fact that its designed to work with those shocks.

Could you use both kits if you wanted to?

No it's not possible to use both. In fact the ICON kit integrates a gusset plate that you slide in to the frame, much like the SDHQ kit, which helps secure the outer bracket of the frame support piece that holds the bumpstop.

I think ICON marketing would tend to say that the kit will work with any shocks stock, ICON or others. The kit's design from what I can tell allows for full compression travel and in reality should work with any shock. I agree however that it will probably perform best with a 3.0 shock and was definitely tested and tuned with ICON shocks, hence my reasoning for buying the kit in the first place.

Ok, why the 2.0 bump vs the 2.5? You have done the heavy lifting when you posted so much detail, so 2.0 vs2.5 pros/cons?

By things going badly, I mean the OH SH*T moments. If you want to go fast, you're inevitably going to roll up on something that will kick your rear end. I saw it and felt it myself at TRR and got bitten by the speed bug too.

I suggest you slow it down a notch until you're ready. Maybe the peer pressure was getting to ya.....

hahahaha

All kidding aside --- Great write-up, nice pics and commentary. When you consider your springs, check out the updated Deaver design. Pretty sweet...
