I kind of agree, because my June order is still unscheduled..
But I'm very happy for anyone being able to receive their new Gen3 now or buying a used Gen2 these days.. Just imagine how much worse the used prices for the Gen2 would be without the Gen3 in the picture!

The TRX is the best thing that happened to Raptor Fans since a long time.

Agreed. Both my Gen 1 and Gen 2 were scabs, so when Ford announced the Gen 3 would be screw only and the same drivetrain, they half made up my mind to look elsewhere. I would have lived with another V6TT in a Gen 3 scab, but wasn't prepared to lose my favorite body version too.

It's also funny since now I have the TRX in a screw because I really like the added cabin space and don't think I would go back to a scab.

I thought about not reviving this topic again, it does not end well generally, but…

Ford dealers, many of them, particularly in large metro areas, are adamant of asking for ADMs. In some cases, outrageous ones. So Ford and Raptor fans are at a minimum paying MSRP as best deals. On the other hand, multiple RAM dealers now openly offering $5-7.5K off MSRP on 2022 TRX. Some of those dealers are the same dealers asking for ADMs on Raptors. On top of this, these dealers have been delivering the trucks, at least appears to be the case, not much complaints about chip shortages or truck shortages.

Now with that kind of discounts, one can have a well optioned 2022 TRX, equivalent to 801A+35s at the same price or even lower than a 2021 Raptor.

Even if the TRX was cheaper, I still cannot bring myself to buying one, but more buyers may go that route given the current approach of RAM vs. Ford dealers. This cannot be good for Ford. I am not even getting into the craziness surrounding the Bronco Raptor or Lightning.

No, you’re hitting the bullseye and Ford would be wise to take notice of potential customers like you, abandoning customers in this very thread and more, and future potential customers, me included. These games just drive people to other vehicles of the secondary market. It’s not about the money for the truck - for me anyway, but, I simply will not play that game and overpay for the Raptor - or any other vehicle for that matter. I’m going to ruffle some feathers here - Even at 5k below MSRP, the Raptor is over priced. I love it, hands down the best all around vehicle I’ve ever had. I hate traveling and having to rent some peasant car now, much more than before. Even so, we’re all considering the very serious future of 6 figures for a pickup truck, which is a very big nut for lots of folks but the TRX has done exactly what Dodge aimed to do: Eviscerated Raptor market place position and value because there’s competition now and the TRX is capable enough to be competitive or better. So now... Why should I entertain the possibility of having to get on a wait list, be forced into package ordering, spending literally thousands of dollars over just to pick up the few options I want and by the time it’s optioned out I’m spending more than I wanted to or anticipated. But wait, I can’t test drive it unless I agree to buy it before ever even looking at it, and on top of that, I have to hope the stealership I choose isn’t going to go back on the deal and attempt to squeeze me for thousands more on top of that. Ford is seriously overpriced on the Gen3 in the context of TRX availability. I like the Gen3, I’m sure it’s a good truck. Still rocking my Gen2 and know it’s a great truck.

I worked pretty hard in late ’16 to land an MSRP deal and at the time I thought that was nutter. Some of the stealerships then thought they apparently had trucks stuffed in the frame rails with b l o w that had a much higher street value. The same thing in ’21. The good news is, there are other options now and if you want a really good off road truck, you can tell the greedy seller to ^^^^ off and go buy something else. Not true in ’16 - ’17.

We’ve had a lot of owners chasing the newest, latest, greatest, shiniest pick up the TRX and guess what - none of them have spontaneously combusted. I’m sure Dodge had the same issue when the TRX was new and you can -at least somewhat credibly- argue that Ford has been and continues to be the truck market leader but Dodge sales are way up and Ford has been quite lazy in recognizing this.

When I’m in the market for a new truck, it won’t be exclusively looking at Raptors, Ford. I would have been; I went Mustang to Cobra, to Lightning years back, but you’re not selling a Panigale R or F40 here.

Just face it. Ford has definitely lost this round. I hope they make a better product in the R and it’s actually available. Competition is good

Agree they lost this round. But the Raptor has been out a lot longer than the TRX. So naturally there will be more content in a forum like that

LOL Once you've had a good SCREW, you never want a SCAB again ... I'd have bought the SCAB if it had the 36 gallon tank. I'm so glad I didn't. SCAB, 6.5' bed, 36 gallon tank? I'm not sure I'd do it.
