has anyone thought of tinting it taking it to a tint shop having them tint it??
You've got to be careful with tint on exterior pieces. It can get too hot in the sunlight and start to bubble.

i tried a variation of that on some custom lensed tail lights..
out of the 4 lenses i was attempting, i only got 1 laid down without bubbling, and once you start to try to peel the film to reapply it, the adhesive bunches up, and you have to start fresh.. but my design had sharp angles and curves that most lights don't have..
the stuff i used cost $50-- i didn't try it a second time.
i also had horrible luck with niteshades being blotchy.. in the end, i used 20% window tinting film stretched across the inside of the lens..
