I think it looks great! With my tails being smoked, I should do the third brake light as well.

That does look great. :waytogo:

As an alternative to paint, just about any place with does window tint, will also wrap the 3rd brake light for another $10-$20 buck. :peace:

I called my tint shop and they said due to the shape of the third brake light, the film would wrinkle/crease; so they sell the paint.

I am in the middle of painting now. Thank you for the write up. Even if i screw it up (I have a tendency to spray to heavy and let the paint run) it will look better than the white

Maxx, dont put the clear on to thick, if you do it can turn cloudy.

I think I put 2 on mine, maybe three, cant remember. Ill look up the thread. okay, I was wrong, only did one coat of clear- http://www.fordraptorforum.com/f81/tinted-3rd-1595/ but 2 wont hurt.

I just know from clearing other shit that if you put a single coat on to thick it turns cloudy.

Thanks. I have mine done and installed, but I ******* hate it. I did it too heavy on a coat and it sagged in a spot. So, I'm going to wet sand it tonight and try to get it how I want it. Thanks again for all the info.

I need to start over as well. What is the best way to remove the all the paint. (it fell over and the paint isn't an even surface)

I'm going to start with 1000 grit sand paper and a wet block. I'll work my way up to finer grit sand paper. Then, I'm going to hit it with a quick polish. That should get it close to original and is probably a bit overkill. I read that you can take this stuff off with alcohol, but I've got two coats of clear on mine at this point.
