I love my raptor but hate the black paint!

So here we have a week of the snow and ice crap. I went by a car wash, wand type and blew off most of the build up of sand and salt and magnesium and whatever off the paint. Got home and it looked like DOG SHIT!

So I spent the next 1 1/2 hours spraying a small section at a time with my detailing spritz and wipped the whole damn BIG ASS truck down. The crap won't wipe off. Its this funky hazy crap and its stuck. Also the salt or whatever left the black plastic on the bumper, hood grills and anything black plastic permenatly bleached whiteish. I waxed all that to but come on. This is the biggest ************* to clean that I have ever owned and it WON'T fit through a car wash that has people who do the dirty work for you. SHIT! Now the truck looks half assed like I was lazy or something. SHIT! A $50,000 shit magnet!

Now we are spose to get another round of this crap in a few days. Anyone want to trade a silver or white Raptor for my black one? HAhahaaaaaaa. SHIT! I am to OLD for this cleaning shit! Who was it that has a simular thread going and he lives in Canada? What the HELL were we thinking?

Guessing this is entirely a salt issue.

So far, I'm pretty impressed with how clean this color stays (for black). Only previous experience with black was a non-metallic. I found my solid black truck looked perfect if you did a perfect job, and looked like shit if you did anything else. On the other hand, tux black seems to look good after a quick wash...i.e., a little waterspotting here or there doesn't cause you to think you shouldn't have bothered washing it all.

The only bitch I've found so far is getting mud out of the texture of the running boards, but I just need to find a right-sized brush (using a wheel brush now and it sucks).

Yer right as far as normal every day crap butr this round of crap sucks! Now that the ice and snow is gone the remaining rocks and sand will hang around till spring and beat the ever living shit out of the front end paint!
