i guarantee my truck has been covered in salt and grime a lot more than yours this winter and i don't have a problem cleaning it. still looks shiny and scratch free when it's clean. using that spray on crap on dirty paint you just essentially sanded your clear coat.

just use the foam brush at the self service car wash, just make sure to use the pressure washer on it first to clean off the last guys dirt. pressure wash your truck thoroughly with the high pressure soap starting at the top down, then use the brush lightly, rinse and repeat. works like a charm and will not scratch your paint.

Now you kinda know what us canadians deal with. Cept we gotta deal with for a lot longer haha.

Just wait till it's done and give it a real nice wash/wax and it should be good

Damn, I hate this thread! You're gonna have me second guessing my color choice. My current truck is black, and so was the one before that. I love black, but it is a bitch, and I always swear that I'll never buy another one! That is until I start shopping and the black beauties draw me in again! If the Raptor came in that darker gray, I'd go with that, but it doesn't, so for me it's either black or silver. I like the silver, but when they're both clean, I like the black better. But I should be realistic, I have kids now, and no time to be washing a truck every week like I could when I didn't have kids. But even still, the black lores me in. I haven't placed my order yet, so I still have time, decisions, decisions!

Don't forget we of the order of the silver Raptor Bo. Having had both white and silver, in my experience the only thing easier to get clean / keep clean than white is (big surprise) silver.

Zo what do you use on the plastic to keep it from gettin the whiteish leaching from road crap on the black plastic? We did a motorcycle trip 3 years ago in Arkansas where we were in some just nasty ass drizzle for 2 dasys and when we got back and it was time to clean the bikes we ALL had this same crap and it literally ruined the black and dark plastic with discolored areas. Looks like its trying to do the same on the bed caps and the hood grills. Ever see this before on your rides?

 I dunno what the hell they're using on the roads down there BDRAG but my truck cleans up pretty perfectly after 10 mins and little TLC at the carwash. I use Mother's Back To Black on my plastic trim, it's like a wax for plastic and it removes grime, wax, salt etc. I also wax my truck before every winter and at least for a couple months the sludge just rinses off.

A must for all detailing kits:
