When the Gen1 came out in 2010 I wanted one really bad. But I waited. I am glad I did. Engine went up to 6.2 and when I ordered a 2012 in August of 2011 I got a bunch of new goodies like heated and cooled seats. Also I paid $500 over invoice. I do want a Gen2 but I will wait. Just can't pay that much. I am expecting in a year prices will be reasonable and who knows what is coming.

I think the truck is a good deal at MSRP. No way I'd pay over though. Feel bad for the guys getting ripped off.

I don't feel bad! They are not getting ripped off they know what they are paying and agree to it. I just can't do it not sure why? But one thing for sure is the 5k more or less they pay will not change their lives one bit so in the end who cares long as they are happy.

Saying that I do agree with you MSRP I'd buy today with out seeing or driving but 1$ over I can't do I'm just weird like that.

I'm looking forward to putting a super charger on mine now. Now that I know I'm not getting a 17 I should of went SC long time ago lol.

The hot thing out here in CA right now are the F250 SuperDuty 6.7L Diesels with offroad mods. What a gorgeous truck. For 58k I can have one of the best Lariat packages with the FX4 bundle. With about 400 ft/pounds more torque than a Raptor this thing is the beast of the road. Just add off road tires and wheels of my choice, a leveling kit with Fox 2.0 shocks and I'm still about 10k less than a Raptor. It's not going to win a Baja, but I think they look better than a Raptor, and you can pull your house around town. Oh ya, and it has massage seats! Ya it's true. :)

I paid sticker price. I don't think they are over priced at all compared to a Tahoe or a suburban. the raptor is for my wife and instead of buying a Tahoe we opted for the raptor and are getting a kick ass truck. I drive a 2016 chev crew cab long box diesel that listed for more than the raptor we have on order.

I've been doing the diesel prerunner stuff for a while, there's definitely some big advantages to the Raptor. First, the diesel torque might sound impressive but the truck is slow as balls without a tune and delete at minimum . Second, the weight of the diesel makes them a lot less agile. Fox 2.0's are tiny for the weight of the truck, you need 2.5 + Fox's or better yet, Kings. And even with something like the Carli Unchained, which is like $12k IRRC, you'll be running close to what a stock '17 Raptor could do out of the box.

Massage seats come in the platinum and limited from what I remember, and those are going to run you to Raptor prices even after all the discounts. And don't forget you don't get the Torsen diff, which I consider almost a necessity.

I got lucky, my obsession of buying a Gen 2 went on hold due to a new home build which prevents me from taking out new credit until done in May. But there is now way I would pay over MSRP either. MSRP is tough, but for a hot vehicle I get it. Hopefully by next summer things will calm down so I can get one. And the 10s of thousands of others likely holding off.
