Yes, could be true, so could anything I read on the internet, but I will wait until Ford says they are building a Raptor R and if they say it will be a v8, v10 or a 4 banger, until then I am very skeptical on what salesmen spew out of their mouths. I too am hoping it gets built, but I might of been born at night, but it wasn't last night.Or it could be the truth
In that case, there will be a $300,000 ADM on it. So only the very rich can apply to own one and it wont even be seen offroad. Was told by Ford purchasing Mgr there will be a Raptor R w/ 5.2 SC engine, it’s not going to be a huge talking point b/c it’s going to be extremely limited production (of course if they have a huge interest/demand & can justify it probably see more volume)
guy made it seem it’d be like Ford GT type limited production not GT 500- real low
He is not a salesman. He is the head of f150 marketing. I don’t understand the pessimistic view. The world has plenty already.Yes, could be true, so could anything I read on the internet, but I will wait until Ford says they are building a Raptor R and if they say it will be a v8, v10 or a 4 banger, until then I am very skeptical on what salesmen spew out of their mouths. YesDoes anyone have any insight into actual production numbers for the R? or is it all 100% speculation at this point?
My info comes from one of the guys responsible for making sure they have the right amount of specific alloy ingot & molten metal to supply the production of all their engine platforms, so in other words- he would know if there’s going to be an increase in production volume for the 5.2 va the 5.0 vs the 3.5 HO etc etc etc
I missed that part, lol. So, he works for corporate Ford?, not some district manager, if so, that appears more promising. Funny though how "Ford" marketed the new Bronco for 2 years before they were produced, but not a whisper in writing from FORD about the "R" yet, that is all I'm saying. And the fact that Ford said they would build the high performance version of the Raptor back in 2009 and never did, even after showing pictures of it.He is not a salesman. Looks like my original plan of getting the R was wishful thinking, since I can’t compete with the Ford GT type of buyers. My info comes from one of the guys responsible for making sure they have the right amount of specific alloy ingot & molten metal to supply the production of all their engine platforms, so in other words- he would know if there’s going to be an increase in production volume for the 5.2 va the 5.0 vs the 3.5 HO etc etc etc
he didn’t get into much specifics other than confirmed yeah they’re making the Raptor R w/ V8 but it’s going to be a tiny fraction of overall Raptor production & said “think like Ford GT type #s”
