Your gonna end up spending 2k on the products to make it MPG appropriate.
Id say, suck it up and just spend the cash... Try plan your routes so you are driving less.. Maybe take a friends car or hitch a ride to places more..

Those are good ways to keep your overall gas consumption down.

There is no way to get your MPG up running a 6.2 with this sized truck

For less than $2k go with a 5-Star tune and their CAI. I have 2000 miles on my 2011 6.2 and went from 12 mpg to 13.5 with the 5-Star componants. I found the key to increaseing mpg is to driving in manual mode and changing up early ie; less than 2000 rpm. The great thing about manual mode is that it gives you "some" control of gear change points - but the Ford s/w is very slow, especially from 1st to 2nd. I often hit the rev limiter before the computer has caught up!! I agree with most of the guys here, I didn't buy this truck for it's fuel economy - but when you're caught in traffic, every mpg helps.

Plus, once you hit around 3k mi, it's like someone hit a switch because mine went from getting 11-12 to 14....and that's mixed driving. My personal opinion....getting 14mpg in a 411hp (460ish hp after mods) truck that weighs 6k lbs and has the aerodynamics of a couch, is pretty damn good.

I know how to decrease it.... Install a prerunner front bumper... I have lost 1.5 mpg's since I removed the aerodynamics of the front bumper... and with $4 a gallon im not liking to much... lol

That's awesome. Doesn't a base '11 Vette get like 26 MPG? You should post up a pic of that Z06. I am thinking about picking up a GS in a year or so for a track toy when depreciation works it's magic.

565hp at the fly and 488 at the tires! I've always heard that anytime you put out more torque than your displacement, you're doing something right! My base z06 got 28mpg's! Its amazing what GM can eeek out in mpg's on these cars as long as the driver has a light foot!

Selling that car was the BIGGEST mistake I've ever made! You're not going to see another 7L Corvette Engine in like? Forever again? When my practice is paid off next year, I'm going to buy another one before the C7 model come out... I disdain the thought of a turbo powered V6 (rumors for the new C7).
