Well, some guys just dont like messing with Wiring,so..$500+ to install light..NOT...did mine in less than 2 hrs...but I felt the $75 to do the wiring was $$ well spent....I DID look at all the wires under the dash and figured, one wrong cut and its gonna cost me way more than $75....Sure there are a lot of guys who wouldnt even attempt to change their oil....to each their own and you gotta do what your comfortable with...

I can understand your hesitation but it's pretty easy with the Raptors. Especially with the wiring kit we include with the SPP light package. SUPER simple really.

Exactly, for me, splicing in to the upfitter wiring was the easiest part. I wouldn't think of paying any place to hook these kits up. They are made for do-it-yourselfers.

This part worries me a bit. I was comfortable with installing reverse lights and tapping into the tail lights, but the upfitter switches feels more like a hump to get over. for some reason. Well, I actually wasn't comfortable with doing it myself, but did it anyway. It's in my head I know. My concern is that I will end up blowing a fuse or something of that nature, and then I'll need to seek help. I will be doing it with the fog lights I've ordered though. Some of my neighbors are pretty good at these things, so I have life line if I run into trouble.

I get not being comfortable with it. That being said, you can disconnect the battery first. But even if you blow a fuse, how many cents does a fuse cost? The upfitter switches have their own dedicated fuses (for each). So the worst you can do is disable that particular switch. I realize not everyone is a mechanic, nor has their own shop. I sure don't. In fact, I TOTALLY respect drawing a line as to when to take something to a pro (this line is different for everyone). However, I think that this is something just about anyone can manage with a little effort (and getting over the scary scary factor). Also, the best part - when something suddenly stops working on a trip somewhere, you know where to look, and there's a good chance you can fix it.

All the wiring on both sides of the switches are already run to just outside the fuse box in the passenger side engine bay, all you have to do is hook up the wire to the switch and also a relay if needed. It looks like the wiring is also in the owners manual that came with the truck for the Aux switches.

First of all, I'm a ham handed. Second, I have not a garage where to do it. From another point of view, installing BD S2 (I was wrong about S1), does not require anything but 20 minutes and wrench key. Well, at least I will try. Thanks guys for you information and advice.

I don't disagree with you, and as I said, i will do the fog light mod myself. I'm just admitting that I have some apprehension due to lack of experience in this arena.

Maybe see if there is someone near enough to you who would be willing to help you out. A lot of us like to get our hands dirty helping out out fellow Raprorians.

I bought fog light kit and reverse kit from Adam at 4x4truckleds.com as well. I have never hooked up automotive wiring before but this seems so damn easy with the harnesses. I even sprung for a heat gun to wrap the butt connectors when I get finished. Starting this project in the morning...I’ll let you know how it goes.

are you in LA or L.A. ?

If you're in southern louisiana, I'll do it in exchange for a beer. It is insane to pay that kind of money to have some hamfist use pepboys crimp connectors to start a fire in your truck.
