If 3 or 4 PSI makes enough of a difference to decide to buy the truck then in my opinion you're buying the wrong vehicle. PSI can make a difference but not to the extend you're looking for. The Raptor isn't for everybody and perhaps an SUV is more your style

This statement is false and not based on facts.

Handling of vehicles is most definitely affected by PSI.

PSI affects: understeer, oversteer, ride quality, traction, towing, payload...more.

Ask anyone who races. Go to Raptor assault and ask the instructors. Go to your local dirt track and ask the drivers. Ask anyone who tows heavy.

I don’t know I’ve bought a lot of new cars in my lifetime and usually when I take a car on a test drive it typically rides nicer than the one I drove to the dealer in lol. Maybe in my head after watching all these YouTube videos I hyped the truck up more than I should have. Not sure what I was expecting it is a big ass truck, I do love the look of the truck just wasn’t expecting it to be so rough I suppose. I am gonna test drive it again on some crummy roads I really wanna get this one just wanna make sure I’m making the right choice

Whoa there little guy...settle down...LOL. I said 3 or 4 PSI isn't enough to make the kind of difference he's looking for. I didn't say it makes no difference at all. Tires will gain 3 or 4 PSI by simply driving down the road. They will vary due to how hot the pavement is, etc, etc. I clearly stated 3 or 4 PSI. Airing down 20-25 or more PSI for off roading or other drastic such changes are a COMPLETELY different story than 3 or 4 PSI. Hope your day improves cause you're obviously stressed out:)

Not stressed there big man. Like I said, 4 psi will make a difference.

Case in point: my ‘18 Raptor was in storage with tire pressure at 40 all around. I took it out if storage and drove it up to the dealers to order a 2020.

The first bumps that I drove over made the truck buck like crazy over bumps. I pulled over and lowered the front to 37 and the rears to 33. The truck drove very well at those lowered pressures.

Yes. 3-4 psi makes a difference, at least for my Raptor, in these circumstances. Maybe your Raptor is different?

2019 shocks alone make for a better ride than the 17/18’s. Add in lower tire PSI and the ride is smooth. I drove a 2019 with 1200 miles on it during the Raptor Assault and I wanted to throw rocks at my 2018 until I lowered the tire pressure.

I drove a 2012 Denali prior to buying the Raptor so I understand the difference you are referring to. That said, the Raptor made me forget about my Denali SUV. Let’s just say it’s a healthy, new addiction.

Good luck!

This ^^^ x 11

For 30 years, speed bumps and train tracks have been the worst experience of my drive. fast cars dont like those things.

Now a days no 2 f's are given and i just speed up and it's like they are not ever there.

I'm surprised to hear so many comments about the ride being "stiff". Compared to what? I compare it to another truck and I find the ride quite soft. You know how some trucks feel like they are shaking your fillings out of your teeth when you go over rough bumps? Not true in my truck. It takes the bumps extremely well, and I smile when I see a speed bump in a parking lot. It doesn't corner well on a paved road at speed, but that's a symptom of the soft suspension. It's not a car. The trade off is in the towing/hauling where the soft suspension causes a lower rating.

Oh, mine is a 2017 Scab with stock tires and suspension. I run them at 40 psi and have 37k on the truck/tires. Looks like I will easily get 45k on the tires.

So I picked up my new 2019 Raptor tonight. I drove a Sierra Denali before this. I thought the ride was a little bumpy but nothing major.

I checked the tire pressure.

See for yourself below if you think the factor over inflated them a bit.
