So I had a 17 Raptor and now the 19. For its price I could be driving my dad’s Buick or my uncle’s Caddy or a new Audi Q8 or dozens of other vehicles that ride smoother, soak up bumps softer.

I’ve rented a POS Dodge pickup that rode smoother.

It’s a truck, a big, badass truck that I and many others love. I put up with the somewhat tougher, stiffer ride.

I currently drive a fully-loaded '17 lariat (which I actually already considered a smooth ride), so hoping I don't experience any real 'expectation shock' on the test drive tomorrow.

I had an ‘18 Platinum after the Panamera which I traded for the ‘19 Raptor.
You really have to consider what the Raptor is intended for.

My son in law who lives in Idaho has an old dodge or Chevy truck. He thought the Raptor was the smoothest ride ever. Loved it. I did lower pressure to 38 front, 34 back. Does make a difference. But if I desire smooth, I’ll ride in my wife’s Lexus even though I hate it and regret not taking the Raptor when we do.

On smooth roads it’s pretty smooth. On bumpy roads it’s a bumpy ride.

Do people really expect a raptor to ride like a luxury vehicle? Its a purpose build off roader with big tires and long travel suspension. It’s like getting a gt500 and expecting it to get 4 cylinder gas mileage.

I even speed up now to drive over railroad tracks!

This ^^^ x 11

For 30 years, speed bumps and train tracks have been the worst experience of my drive. fast cars dont like those things.

Now a days no 2 f's are given and i just speed up and it's like they are not ever there.

I wish I would have told the guy I need more time with it, it is a lot of money to make up your mind in 2 miles. .

My dealer had no stipulations on my test drive. I went 10-15 miles. most of it was in the rain. i was the customer.

Just have to find a dealer who it is no big deal to sell a raptor. Some of these smaller shops don't get to sell many units, and the make it out to be a bigger thing then it really is.

Yea I suppose your right it’s not gonna ride as smooth as trucks that are meant for just pavement

I'll second this. I think the OP and many others (myself included) can be misled by the many reviews online about the truck. It's described online as being able to soak up the bumps. A lexus can soak up the bumps too, and that may be our original frame of reference. But what is often left unsaid online is that the ride is still quite bouncy and stiff. It's just a very solid and grounded feeling bounce, which I now feel is rather unique. Would others agree?
