Yes sir. And it's been done. Multiple times. And I'll do a few more. Just want to change the plugs cause I'm sure they are gapped to 30. Also it has a stock T-stat and will be swapping in a 170 as well. So I'll do an oil change while I'm there. Do those before datalogging.There is nothing to break in as far as the engine goes- other than rings, and wide open throttle as early as possible is the best way to do that.
Haha! But I've got so much into it to just leave it alone now. Risk it to get the biskit!!Man, after all that, no way I'm putting a tune on my truck if I had to fork over for a new motor.

That is flame cutting of the block.
Too much cylinder pressure led to a head gasket failure. Combustion gets past the head gaskets and melts/vaporizes the aluminum block metal on it's way out.
Pretty similar to a oxy acetylene cutting torch...
