It's easy to say that, after your calculations... However, this was never seen in mass numbers before and people do MUCH harder things with these vehicles that we did.

That, and your calculations are theoretical based on "estimated" numbers... Which you're now preaching as fact.

Of course a bent frame is mechanical damage, I'm illustrating that NOTHING else was affected in any way aside from the frame... I would expect to see other stuff fail long before a frame would, in my experience with many other off road vehicles.

This doesn't need to be a debate, I have my opinion on how we drove the trucks, you have yours... Let's leave it at that and stop polluting these informative threads.

According to you, the SVT Raptor program is a failure, and the design team should be reassigned.

You are great at throwing rocks without anything of substance to back it up. Your lines of thought all seem to be guesswork and knee-jerk reactions. Do you own a Raptor? Do you like it? When are you selling it?

I am almost upset with myself for responding to your posts. But I think the Raptor owners deserve to know the truth.

Yes, Ollie, I certainly do own a Raptor. It's a fine set of street wheels. I'll trade it when SVT produces the F250 Raptor. That's the frame platform needed to achieve the expected performance without trashing Ford's reputation.

I'll look for the pics of your Raptor, it's the pink one, yes?

Blue,

I'm curious, what speed is considered "high speed off-road"?
Ask Ford. Their press videos show the trucks constantly in excess of 60, 70, even 80MPH...

To me, "High Speed" when you're off road would be anything over 50 MPH, which is the point where you can usually bring the truck to a stop in a fairly resonable distance on a solid surface. The guys I ride with, that have stock trucks, will usually push the limits at 50-60, so they can still slow down in a hurry if needed for any "whoops" or surprises coming up.

If this was a stock F-150, I wouldn't have an arguement in the world, and it WOULD be abuse. This truck is much tougher than that, and should have been able to handle the terrain without this damage. Hell, it DID handle same sized kickers if not bigger, the beginning of the first day! We hit some fairly large ones, and no issues at all. Again, heat load on the shocks is really starting to look like more of a probability at this point, than anything.

Regardless of what Ford shows in their commercials and advertising they always say "Driven by a professional driver on a closed course." Case closed, use your best judgement when driving. Lesson learned, now we have an idea of the limit of the trucks in this area.

Let me 1st say that I have virtually no experience driving that fast off-road. That being said, I think your response sounds good to me.

Just curious, does anyone who doesn't have any damage have pics of their bumpstop/frame (same angles, views, etc) that they can post? I took a look at mine and saw the one or two that swoop (?) posted, but that was one angle. To me, it already looks f'ed up with the welds and bulges up there. Just wanted to compare.

Thanks in advance.

There is a slight bulge there already from the get go.....it protrudes out to the sides just a bit.
