I looked at the bed of the orange truck. The interior bed condition and the cab-to-bed V are consistant with top frame failure at the middle-to-rear welded joint.

Most of the Raptor suspension is heavy duty, the frame is stock. All the fun parts are working to break the top of that modular frame, even at low speed.

The rear suspension on the Raptor is far from heavy duty... a block and leaf pack off an F150 dampened by Fox shox. The stock F150 leaf pack has one more leaf than the Raptor. IIRC both the standard F150 and the Raptor have the sa,e amount of travel...the shock mounts are off a super duty so you might be able to classify that as "heavy duty"??

That's my truck in the photo. Actually the frame is dead on straight up to the bump stop then it starts to drop. The photo isn't that great but you can actually see the bed bent down right at the fender wells. The inside (vertical) part of the fender well has warped due to the bend. If you push on it it pops and moves like the safety button on a pickle jar! Looks like the frame and axle acted as a big lever. The thicker front end of the frame just won out over the wimpy back end. The bend is right where you might expect - at the fulcrum/axle/bump stop. What you are talking about looks reasonable from the picture. The bed is just exaggerating/distorting what is really happening underneath.

I went to the dealer lot, this morning, to compare 2011 SCrews. They had most of the F150s, except an FX4. There was a F250 SCrew, also.

Shocks: Raptor has the high performance Fox. The rest of the F150 SCrews "looked" to have the same shocks. The F250 SCrew "looked" to have long travel shocks.

Shock mounts: My SCrew Raptor seems to have the same shock mounts as the other F150s. The F250 shock mounts are heavier gauge steel.

Leaf Springs: My springs are stenciled BL3V-6560-LE. No stencil on the other F150 springs. The 5.0 Platinium and the 6.2 Limited have a shim between the bottom leaf and block; but all the F150s have three leaf packs. The F250 leaf springs are heavier.

Leaf Spring Mounts: Same on all the F150s. F250 spring mounts are sturdier.

Spacer Blocks: Here's the Raptors problem. None of the other 2011 F150 SCrew on the lot have a shelf on the spacer block between the axle and the bump stop. The F250 does have a shelf on the spacer block ... but it's not as beefy as the ones on my SCrew!

You're correct the Raptors' collection of stock, high performance, and heavy duty parts can't be termed "heavy duty". The correct term is snafu.

I'm still speculating that the middle-to-rear welded joints on the stock F150 frames can't handle the Raptors' expected performance. There was a Raptor SCab parked for service at the dealer this morning. It had the same F250ish spacer block shelf as my SCrew ... wtf? Somebody at SVT should be reassigned.

Maybe Dodge marketing would be interested in buying your Raptor.

calls 'em like I sees 'em

Whoa whoa whoa! Let's not get crazy here!!!

Placing an F250 spacer block between a high performance rear suspension and the stock F150 modular frame is ********. The F150 SVT Raptor program is a fail.

Time for FoMoCo to get the F250 SVT Raptor program launched.
