Hood Light Mounts Install Walk Thru (Lots o pics!)

Trying to trim my cowling with my Roto Zip but this thing is too wide to get down in there. I guess I gotta buy one of thos dremel things.

The Dremel is a tight fit, but it will get you in there and make quick work of the plastic.

I used tin snips, they made short work of that plastic.

Did you just cut a "V" in the cowling, PH?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but he used snips to cut the two sides, but finished with a Dremel. If not PH, than another FRF member did.

Now that I think about it, I believe I used a Dremel with a sanding bit, to clean up the cuts... minimal stuff really. For the most part, the tin snips took everything out.

Oh, and not a "V" cut - a "U" cut. If you are using VisionX HID lights, you will also need to drill a large hole into the cowling below the claw mount (for the light's mounting bolt).

You'll have to do the same for the HIDx lights as well.
