Like Killjohnathan mentioned above. The hole in the claw is too small for the bolt that comes with the light. When you try to insert the light, the bolt won't fit. You have to drill out the hole to make it larger. While you're doing that, just drill all the way down into the cowling. The bolt is too long, so the new hole in the cowling will allow the bolt to go all the way down.

Getting the nut on the bolt is another nightmare. There's no room to get the nut and washer under the claw, and there's no room to move a wrench around to tighten the nut. You must hold the wrench still, and turn the light until it's tight on the nut. I taped the washer and nut to the wrench and slid it under the claw.

Good luck!!

Gouged the shit out of the toppside of my cowl while observing my handiwork with the godamned dremel bit.

See Mom? That's why I didn't want to be freakin surgeon!

No wait. It gets even better. I got my first light installed, went and opened the other box and the lens is shattered all inside the plastic.

The Dremel can be an evil beast. It will get away from you any chance it gets. Those RPMs are hard to control, and it's such a light tool you tend to forget you're holding it. However, it can be worse.

I was cutting a bolt one day with a cutoff disc, and I even had the shield attached to keep the sparks out of my face. The Dremel got stuck and jumped and my finger ended up between the shield and the blade. I cut one finger to the bone and nicked another. It was the second worse pain I have ever felt. Bled like a horror flick. Instead of getting stitches, I used butterfly bandages, and a few extra bandages, and applied a splint for a week. You can still see the burn marks under the scar.

Sorry to hear about your lights. One of my brand new VisionX lights wouldn't stay lit. I had to swap it out.
