Hi, I'm a complete noob when it comes to suspension and have some questions.

So I've been looking at purchasing some fox 3.0 shocks. They have two options for the front. option #1 "Fox 3.0 Factory Series Coil-Over Internal Bypass Reservoir" and option #2 "Fox 3.0 Front 2 Tube External Bypass Shock"

What are the differences of these two front shocks and which one is generally better?. Also what is a DSC.

I also see options for +2 or + 3 deavers but don't understand what deavers actually do, so if someone could explain all of this to me I would greatly appreciate it.

And where is the best and cheapest place to purchase from.

Once again sorry for being such a noob and I apologize if this question has already been answered. Thanks guys

Are you set on Fox?

I can get you taken care of with King Shocks and Deavers.

We can also talk a little bit more on your overall goal and what you use the truck for!

PM, Email or call me directly!

Thanks

If you do it in steps - based on limited budget.
I was told by RPG and a couple others -
stock front is better than rear. Do rear first.
•Frame reinforcement and bump stop
•rear springs
•rear 3.0 shocks
•front 3.0 coil overs
Next steps vary who you talk with
Weak links Tie Rods, Spindles
Then UCA, LCA, larger shocks, longer travel rear and front. Etc $$$$$
I did mid perch myself, then got RPG stage 3 ran TRR and Cali desert
Added 3.0 in the rear and made a lot of difference off-roading.
I am putting 3.0 coil overs on next weekend and I'll test in Baja

Hey Rawhorsepower,
So do the 3.0s in the front give you the option to run at top perch height? Or is the cv angle still to steep? What about upper/lower control arms? I mean I know if you get longer arms you get more clearance and travel but what about the regular arms that RPG, Camburg, Icon etc sell? is that just about the uniball?

The 3.0 in front can be set like top perch. I have a 2013 and set high in front and I'm hitting Baja hard. We have done two days and have a couple more days here. I am using the standard (not long) RPG Upper arms 1.5"

So what if I just put the 3.0s in my totally stock suspension? can I set them to the same height as top perch on my stock 2.5s? If so why do the 2.5s cause binding and the 3.0s don't? Thanks in advance

It's got to do with the location of the bypass ports in the stock front shocks. Top perch puts you out of the ride zone, hence the crappy ride.
Binding doesn't happen with either setup. What happens is that the cv's have less surface area engaged internally, the greater the angle placed on them. Torque handling capacity goes down as angle goes up.
So it's not a concern until you try to use 4x4.
