Test drove the 2018 and then a 2019 as well.

The difference in price with my trade between the 2 is about $5500. They are identically equipped with exception that the 2019 has the Beadlocks, a foldable bed extender and Carbon fiber interior that the 2018 doesn’t have. The 2018 has the exterior graphics that the 19 doesn’t. Obviously the 2019 has the updated stuff that a 2019 has vs a 2018.

I’m pretty torn. I couldn’t tell a ton of difference in the ride, but it was tough given the test drive conditions. The 2019 might have been just a touch stiffer, but it was difficult to tell. $5500 is still a lot of money, but it would be brand new.

Your assessments on the difference in ride between a 2018 and 2019 are identical to mine. Tough decision. Best wishes.

Nobody is compelling you to buy only one or the other of --these-- trucks. It’s a big world, with lots of Raptors available. If you’re not satisfied ; that is, you feel like the deals in front of you aren’t for what you want, or you’re compromising somehow, order one the way you want or find one the exact option set you want.

Value wise, the ’19 start at a higher value and hold it longer for the fancy electronic suspension. Honestly though, there are some options on the Rap that don’t make it any better. Graphics, carbon fiber interior, moon roof all are way overpriced for what you get.

Bed extender you can get used, same with the bead lock capable wheels.

also, you mentioned test drive conditions. You’re about to lay down fifty large +. you get as much test drive as you want, or you walk.

Have you looked under the 18 to see if it was an early build with the plastic oil pan? That should be enough to sway you one direction.

I did. The 18 had the metal pan.

Smurfslayer, thanks for all the help! Your thoughts are legit and very helpful. Im going to take a tactical pause for a night or so...I’m in no rush.

I would accept the previous poster's offer to run the Oasis report if you are leaning toward the '18, you don't want to end up with a basket case.

Sell the bed extender, and if you don't like the beadlocks sell them and buy the regular rims for a few hundred, that will help make up some the difference. Buy all the graphics you want online, for a fraction of the price. I would probably just get the '19.

I have a set of 5 '19 takeoff beadlocks and tires sitting in the garage. The longer I look at them, them more I prefer the look of my '18 beadlocks, even the standard rims look a little better, in my opinion. The time is approaching for new tires, I will probably just use the tires and sell the '19 rims. I bet you could find someone that will swap with you plus some decent cash.

I just went through the same ordeal. Could have purchased a blue 19 for about 5K more than a 4,500 mile black 18. I went with the 18 because I really wanted shadow black and the full leather seating surfaces. After washing it the for first time I'm convinced the hood has been repainted. Now it's sitting at the dealer having a really odd snowflake pattern windshield defect investigated to see if Ford will cover it under warranty. Truck had a clean carfax, but that doesn't really mean much.

Snowflake is delamination.

Why did the owner of the 18 trade it in?

Taking out price, which truck do you like more?

Yes $5,500 isn't chump change, but I would go with the truck that I liked the best.
