Bump just keeping th thread alive even though I know its still early on. Any info on what is actually the missing component of the heated steering system would be very helpful. In the winter time in NYC I drive with heated steering wheel every time, so it quite important.

Agree. Is it a module in the dash that controls the heat? I think it’s just small wiring through the steering wheel that heats it and the button can’t be it. I rarely use it but wouldn’t mind having it for $140

There’s a DIY thread on another forum on how to retrofit heated steering. If you want a heated steering wheel you can send me a message.

Living in the Northeast with not the greatest blood circulation in my hands, lack of a heated steering wheel would be a dealbreaker for me.

But OP, you live in Mississippi. Lol.

I gather these are Gen 3 steering wheels w/ heat? If so, not gonna ask how you got them. Lol

They are gen 3 and it’s all legit. I don’t think that the steering wheels are the issue with removing them from the trucks. I can get them at any time.

Ford would offer you a small fortune.
The steering wheels aren’t the issue. It’s the other parts. To add heated steering you’ll need some wiring, the clock spring, and hvac controls if you want that. Ford has already removed the digital display from the hvac controls. Removing the heated steering button saves more chips. I highly doubt that Ford is making the parts in a factory somewhere either. Their supplier has issues making the parts. Lots of businesses are having issues getting employees and prices are up.
