I believe it depends on weather or not you have adaptive cruise. If you have adaptive cruise you will have the first one.

Anyone else confirm that the Active Cruise is solely responsible for the larger of the two designs?

So a quick note on laser jammers. They will all Jam to the front of the vehicle not from the rear. So when LIDAR is jammed all the LEO needs to do is wait for you to pass and tag you again for an accurate reading. Even in the absence of a reading its easy to be trailed and written on careless driving.

You can get front and rear laser shifters. ALP is what I would recommend. Anti-Laser Priority.

Lidar is more precisely aimed than a radar gun and only needs a reflective surface, which the Raptor has plenty of. I’m given to understand Lidar can be aimed at a license plate, head light or any other relatively flat surface that will send a signal back to the gun. With a gigantic front end, that’s a pretty easy task.

A lidar alert isn’t necessarily a gotcha alert. I got a couple lidar alerts when a cop lit up a car throwing a block for me. Both times they were uninterested, presumably we weren’t going fast enough to draw that extra special attention.

Lidar is in fact aimed and they usually aim for the headlights or license plate. This is the same for all vehicles not just the Raptor (although the front of a Raptor has less reflective area than most since they can't use the grill or bumper). Considering Veil G5 is used to coat the headlights and license plate cover if you run a front plate, it should decrease the detection distance for Lidar. As long as you have a detector that detects laser, it should give you time to slow down before they can lock in a speed.

A lot of effort there. How often you guys getting pulled over? lol

That's what I'm sayin'. These guys are better off just paying for a speeding ticket. Ours are all reduced out this way anyways. In 4 years I've never had any ticket I've written even go to trial... They usually just reduce them to a parking ticket. What is everyone in such a gigantic hurry for that it's worth spending $100s on all these gadgets.

Moving violations are bad for your insurance. It's not about moving at warp speed it's about not get pulled over by the one cop who's having a bad day and is not letting people slide at 10 over. It's also nice to know they are there so I don't do anything stupid and I simply don't want the hassle of the time it takes to go to court to get the ticket reduced.

I have been running radar detectors since the 80s some times you get busted no matter what you have but more times the not it has saved my some hassles.

Thats why you have a lawyer. We are talking traffic court here. A 10 over ticket is still less money paid then all that radar detectors and jamming equipment. Traffic tickets do not hurt your insurance if you are not assessed points (so, pay the larger fine for no points). The Raptor will get LEOs attention no matter what you do. Radar detectors are illegal in some states as well, I'm sure there is a comprehensive list somewhere "google it."
