Now they do have a 1.5 that is taller and you can tell by if it has 2 handles or one. The 1 handle is the short jack and the 2 handle is the taller jack. I was pretty disappointed that this wouldn't lift the rear off the ground from the rear diff so I'm going to say that it might not be a true 1.5t jack.

If it were I wouldn't look for anything less than 3ton for stands. The reason I say that is those stands are the ones that are welded together with some angle iron. Well the 3 tons have 2 stamped metal pieces welded together and therefor you have less of a chance for things to go wrong. I have used those others but don't trust them.

reading the reviews, these craftsman jacks seem to be made in china and are breaking seals in just over a year of light use... even the 3-ton ones...

and my mistake, the jack stands are 2.25 ton, i read it wrong.

We have 3 ton jacks here at the shop and 6 ton jack stands, always better off safer.

This isn't necessarily directed at you Alternative, you just happen to of posted about 6 ton jack stands.
For those that don't know, the 6 ton jack stands are actually 3 tons but sold in pairs making them 6 tons.

Most people don't realize this
