Honestly, I hate to over-simplify this, but shit happens. I'm glad no one was hurt and he's likely just going to be out of pocket for the insurance deductible. If you read this forum long enough, you'll come away thinking the Raptor is nothing but an over-priced lemon that has an under-powered engine with components that need immediate third party replacement.

So, if you're trying to talk yourself into a $100,000 soccer mom SUV, go for it. Apologies if that's rude, but let's face it... You drive a Raptor because it's awesome. The Lexus is nice, but you're not going to turn any heads in that vehicle or feel like a badass running up to Starbucks.

To each their own, and I can't think of a single vehicle that would qualify as a daily driver I'd rather own over a Raptor. But if you want the Lexus, just get it. Frankly, it sounds like you've already made up your mind and expect us to provide some kind of justification.

Our opinion isn't worth a flying f-ck on this one.

HI there,

First off before I get into this , this thread is not about trolling. As most of you know I am on my second raptor and absolutely love the truck. Although due to where I live I have been thinking about opting out of the raptor and into a LX 570. Well I tried the LX 570 out a couple of weeks ago for the third time and guess what ? I am still in the raptor, although still thinking about the change.

I have already been told to leave the forum and that's ok, I still love the raptor. Although one of the youtube channels I follow posted some real scary news about a persons mishap with his raptor. Go onto gunner212 on you tube and check out what just happened to his raptor. Now keep in mind his youtube channel is all about the raptor and he is on his second Raptor, and he is a great spokesperson for the raptor in Canada.

Again watch this video. It really is sad what happened to his truck and if somebody had been sitting the truck or he would have been 60 seconds earlier leaving his house, he would not be here right now. This truck was not tuned, but did have a borla exhaust, which he never links to the mishap.

This has me seriously thinking again, especially when he says this is happening to other raptor owners.

Keep in mind, this guy was as enthusiastic as you could be about a ford raptor.

ME120, in your other thread you lamented about the billions of $$ it was going to cost Ford for some mileage claims, or something like that. Now this? I used to watch the ecodiesel forums, it seems like several of them burned to the ground. I traded mine, but my wife is still rocking her '16 Ram ecodiesel, not concerned in the least. Isolated issues.

It would seem you are either a troll or trying to convince yourself into trading out of the Raptor. I may be off base here on the troll bit, who knows. I will wait for your next installment of "reasons NOT to own a Raptor". Cherry picking bad news from the net will not sway many here.

Point well taken, thank you.

Although I do find it interesting to see what current raptor owners think.

For sure, and sharing opinions in a (hypothetically) civil fashion is what this place is for.

Just don't go blow $100k on what a bunch of strangers on the Internet think, lol.

Thank you, I appreciate your opinion. I think you need to read my other threads to see how much I like the raptor. And no my mind is not made up. But when you see something like this it makes you think. No trolling, love the raptor.

I agree with you 110 percent. That’s why I am moving very slow.

Although after trade it would be around $ 18,000.00

I apologize, my car knowledge and ego is not on your level. You are no doubt in a different league.

I don’t see the transition from Ford Raptor to an LX 570... or Lexus anything for that matter. Seems your choice of the Raptor was out of character for you, and you are just reverting back to the mean with your desire for a Lexus.

Performance vehicle owners don’t transition to the most mundane manufacturer in the market over the last 20 years.

Maybe a Raptor owner would want to transition to a Porsche, or other German performance car sedan, a GT350/500... maybe a Corvette or other simi exotic/rare vehicle. Not a Toyota!
Agreed, my plan is to transition into an AMG/M car.
