Grill paint peeling

I was wondering if anyone else had a issue with the paint peeling in the grill. I have a 2018 and washed the grill and the paint came off in a couple spots.

That looks like brake fluid got on it or it wasn’t cleaned properly before painting. I would go for a new grill over painting

That sucks! Looks like a bad from new paint job and it never adhered properly. I would go show that to your dealer and see if they will do anything.

I’m going to take it to the dealer tomorrow and see what they say.

I didn't even know they painted that. I thought it was colored plastic.

If you don’t get satisfaction from the dealer, I’d take the grill off and take it to Line-X. I think they have a low texture Matte that’d look good. Probably would look better than OEM .

The dealer wouldn’t do anything they said that isn’t covered under the warranty after 12000 miles. So they wanted 1200 for a new grill. I said no so I’ll take it off and get it repainted.

that’s kind of cheapskate... that said, the grille is relatively easy to remove and separate. lots of threads on here on how to do it. I had chip on mine that i had touched up and the shop matched it flawlessly.

Do you happen to know what paint they used to touch it up? I have a chip I’m looking to fill in as well - a damn rock managed to hit right between the PPF lines and just do enough to make it irritating.
