..until then I'll be bugging all the car detailing guys as to what to do about all the sand blast marks on her!

Clear coat damage from wind-blown sand would typically need to be machine polished, if it is really noticeable.

If it is still minor, then you could hide some of it with a coat of Brilliant Glaze. This product has fillers in it which will mask minor imperfections until you can get it polished out.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Also, check out the Adam's Polishes Detailing Guide and Quick Reference Thread for an intro to our products and how to use them, with some links to write-ups and how-to's specific to Raptors.

Thanks for that, I'll definately have a look at that. I just did a big order on amazon for Torq BUF501 orbital polisher and a bunch of pads so will definitely have to make use of it. Only problem is these guys and their infinite fracking wisdom here love to build garages that are open... so 2 minutes and the truck is covered in sand again... go figure.

I know that it is nowhere near as bad as your location, but when we lived in Amarillo, TX we had the same issue. Wind and sand/dust. I used the heck out of my MasterBlaster - every time I wanted to do something like wash or wax, I had that thing handy. Works great to keep the scratchy stuff off while you are working......

Yea its going to be trial and error right now. The guy who owned it actually OWNED a carwash and car detailing shop... unfortunately in this part of the world they tend to hire the lowest common denominator to work on things here. I have LITERALLY had a guy come to fix a water leak with just a hammer in hand...So you tend to become DIY by necessity. Anyways the very slight scratch marks from the sand in the clear coat are atrocious so i was going to make it matte black until my Plasti Dip debacle. Ah well more time with my raptor is never a bad thing right?
