Anyone install one of these systems? Can you recommend one? Liveviewgps.com seems like a good one, but $30-40 a month seems steep. But you get a lot. Wondering what other alternatives are out there.

I want to know where my a Raptor is at all times, get a text if it moves, and be able to track it if stolen.

Will the viper system allow you to track your vehicle into Mexico?

I used to work for the originator of Live View's system - LV is a reseller and they are great. The system is actually from US Fleet Tracking. They are middle of the road on pricing, but way ahead of the pack on updating the vehicle's location at 10 seconds. You can also wire it up to lock/unlock doors and disable starter from the net if it is stolen. There is no contract so you're not stuck with it like a cell phone. They also have a mobile site for use on iPhone, Droid etc. From what you describe, that is the system you need. 10 second updates will make sure your geofences alert properly where on a 5 minute update, they can be beaten.
You may also get a discount on insurance for having a GPS on board.
Be careful and read the fine print as some systems will start cheap but charge you every time you update the vehicle's location.

here, on frf
the 5906 is a full system the 3001 is an interface system.

these are off the top of my head important features, since i dont remember every feature without looking.

5906

color lcd screen with 1 mile range
full alarm system with remote start
the ability to fine tune your remote start options
ability to add multiple aux channels
ability to fine tune your aux features
can add smart start

3001

has the remote start interface needed for your vehicle
has gps smart start.
no remote necessary

basically the 3001 is a dball pro with the vsm250. those are parts (the dball pro is not need and a dball 2 can be used instead) you would need with the 5906 to make it seamless integration into your vehicle. if you dont care about added features, then the 3001 might be your best option.
