Yeah, I'm not sure I'm looking for an alarm. I'm looking just for the GPS functionality. Even the remote start is a bit of a mystery to me why I would need that. But my local audio shop has the 3001 for $250 installed, and that $99/yr program looks nice. If I can do geofencing and get alerted when the truck moves and I can locate it if stolen, then thats the ticket. It compares very favorably with eZoom, Zoomback, Liveview, etc. I also don't need it to put it in my backpack. A permanent vehicle installation works for me, and the price seems right.

I need to learn more about the tracking features to make sure it will do what I want, but thanks for pointing me in that direction! Would have never considered Viper had you not mentioned it.

Couple of tips...
LoJack is a triangulated system meaning if you are in range of 3 cell towers they can plot the location to about 1 square mile. Cops told us repeated they do NOT track LoJack because of the inaccuracy. If you are only in range of 2 towers, it way off and only one tower ????????
US Fleet will track in Mexico - so will Live View since it's the same system in the background.
I would be glad to answer any questions since I spent 5 years in that business - just PM me.

The Viper site is a bit confusing. I think what's $250 is the Remote Start, and what I'm wanting is the GPS module, which I'm guessing is not sold separately. So I'm thinking this is gonna cost a bit more. What the heck, I guess I'll find out tomorrow when I take it in. $200 for 3 years of tracking/alerts is a deal.

I'd be more inclined to hide an ignition interrupt switch somewhere. No monthly fee, and the 3 ton truck isn't going anywhere unless they bring a tow truck.

Noah if you were to wire a kill switch how would you do it? Would it just be as simple as putting a switch in line of a solenoid? I am terrified about my truck being stolen as well as you guys. But Im also scared of cutting wires and splicing in a complicated alarm as I know the electrical system is very sensitive.

the problem is where to put it. for convienence you would have it under the drivers dash. but a thief would find it pretty quick. in the engine bay, and you will be opening your hood every time you leave your vehicle
