Been following this thread for a while and thought I'd just chime in to give some info from the dealers side. I'm a salesman at a Ford store in Pa. and have almost 30 years under my belt here.
With specialty units like the Raptor, GT350, GT350R and so on Ford gives us an allocation number at the beginning of the year. That number will be for the entire build year. Our store is getting 4 Raptors this year. The only way we'd have a chance at more units would be if sales crashed on these units and dealers passed on allocation they had.
As far as scheduling goes they don't give us any advance notice on when those units will get pulled for scheduling. We got a call from our Ford rep about a week ago asking for an order number of a Raptor because they were going to pull one of our orders for scheduling. They pulled that order last week, it's got a vin # but no schedule date yet. So as a dealer we don't know until the week they are going to schedule one of these units. All of our standard inventory works completely different than that.
As far as the Carbon Fiber package goes I haven't seen anything from Ford saying there was an issue with availability of the package. With that being said none of our orders have the CF package ordered.
My truck is the second unit ordered. I've contacted my Ford rep asking if she could help get my order pulled quicker. She actually has no control over that and wasn't able to help.
Of our 3 units already ordered all of them are Avalanche, CC, 802A package trucks. No CF, graphics, or Interior accent. The 4th customer will be in to see me either today or the beginning of next week to finalize his order and it sounds his will be the same as the above except with the interior accent package.
Well, that is kind of reassuring to hear for me. I have the CF awaiting to be assigned a scheduled date - no word of any issues from Ford or dealer. Seems like they would get tired of me asking for an update every week?! Wait some more....

And thanks for the post.
I'm not sure if you mean Ford or the dealer getting tired of you asking. The dealer should understand someone that orders a unit like this will be anxious to know anything and everything about the truck. The people from Ford that handle the inquiries are there just for that. So they won't get tired of it.
The sales person you're dealing with has so much to do with how informed you'll be through out your order process. Selling vehicles like this is the fun part of my job. I love when people are excited about what they're buying. I feed the customer every little tid bit of info I can get. Unfortunately most sales people aren't like that.
Both! FP and salesman, but it won't stop me.
Unfortunately you are correct, this is my second ordered vehicle with this dealer - both the same, no one knew what I was talking about when I started inquiring about the soon to be on sale vehicle. Never was contacted by them, always me initiating anything, but I suspect that is more the norm than not. You are rare breed in the industry I'd say which is unfortunate.
I'm going to contact FP weekly until my status changes then I will contact the dealer I think.
Best of luck with your order
Has anyone with a dealer "stock" allocated vehicle gotten their vin/schedule date, or have they all been retail orders?
