There are some very nice brake upgrades on the forum, but I wanted to keep my OEM beadlock wheels which I really like.....so went looking for rotor and pad upgrade. Lots of positive reviews on here for these.....

If you want them coated AFTER the holes and slots are machined, then you have to get them from this vendor. I had brakes on another vehicle and absolutely hated the way all the holes and slots looked rusted after first wash.

But I wanted to make the machining bit more visual so I went with.....

  1. Geomet rotors directly from R1 Concepts. Put your email in and wait for a discount. I endedup with 25%, but have seen as high as 30% discount.
  2. Got the same same pads from Amazon which was the least expensive at the time.
  3. Bought G2 black caliper paint from R1 to hand paint the holes and slots. This was a pain, but did not want paint all over rotor and then mess up the surface of the pad. Hand sanded with a small sanding block any paint that was on face of the rotor. Got the G2 paint for free as R1 shipped a kit that was missing some parts (obvious return, but paint unopened) and when I complained, they credited back what I paid.
In total, cost me $423.49 so pretty "cheap".
Put the rears on first as I wanted to see how they held up before doing the fronts. Here is what they look like after a few thousand miles and bunch of water / weather. Doing good so far.....

You got front and rear rotors and pads for $423? That's really good.
