2013 Raptoberfest (aka TRRR) was a blast
but I did some hellacious damage thanks to melting down my stock spindle/knuckle/uprights - they just could not take what the dual shock front suspension could deliver (I had gotten a set of gussets just in time for TRRR, but unfortunately could not find anyone locally who would weld them up to the pot-metal cast spindles).
Drove it home, but destroyed new front tires in the process
TRRR Damage Report:
- bent spindles
which led to the destruction of:
- Rack
- PS Pump
- IWE
- A/C condenser
- 2 new 37" Toyo M/T's
and of course the obligatory front bumper.
I had all of this damage corrected, and then took the truck over to DFW Frame & Align where they straightened the cross members and also the frame tabs where the control arms mount. This was an inexpensive frame issue, but important to address.
Expensive lesson learned.... Before you overdrive your beefed up suspension, be sure to replace those cheap weak stock spindles!

Now it's way past time to get on with the 3rd annual TRR revamp.
