I’m not saying it is, but for a modification that has been hundreds of times to these trucks with no issues, I highly doubt it is the bumper and moving an ACC module that is causing all of this.
You are not wrong nor are you correct.

Let me tell you a little story.

Years ago (2009 I think) I had a new diesel come in (worked at dealer at the time) with check engine light on.

It had a bunch of codes, none that were MAF specific but air flow and egr flow codes.

It had an aftermarket air box/air intake. Something I had seen 100's of times.

I ran through all the diag steps and found nothing wrong specifically. I cleared codes and drove with. With in 5 miles it set all the codes again.

On a hunch I took his airbox set up out and installed a factory one from another truck. Problem solved.

The guy was f u c king furious, said I was full of shit. That a his previous trucks had the same airbox, said that all his friends had that air box and they had no issues.

He insisted!!!! That we/Ford HAD to make the airbox work, that is WAS our responsibility. That the airbox manufacturer was at 0 fault. And had 0 responsibility in the matter.

The guy fought this for over 3 weeks. He got a replacement airbox from the manufacturer and it did the same thing.

I do not know why, but that truck would not/did not like an aftermarket air box.

But understand that isn't the manufacturer's problem.

Good luck.

That truck belongs on backroads in WV. Keep us posted. It seems like in the grand scheme of things, the RAPTOR GEN 2/3 had some kinks but largely most vehicles function fine. I konw for one, *knock on wood*, the olny thing I have had to do is replace that little vacuum hose for the IWEs. I have not replaced or repaired a SINGLE thing else on my 2017 and I am mediumly modified.

New word: Mediumly. Just accept it.

We are essentially trusting Russian hackers with our truck's electronics?
It’s way worse than that. I’ve read that Ford brought software development in house. Probably to save money. How do you think that’s going to work out? For us, I mean. The guy who did it will have his promotion and will have moved on when the chickens come home to roost.

Isn’t that how it’s supposed to work? Assume mods didn’t cause the problem unless you can prove it is the sole cause?
I try and prove the modification is the issue, with electronics most the time the only way to do that is put it back to stock. I have seen AMP running boards screw up memory seat function on a platinum superduty, I have also seen a few hundred AMP running boards cause NO issues.

You have to understand when the vehicle is under warranty the old FoMoCo slogan applies. "It may be your car but it is still our baby"

Brave of you to post here. All these Raptor enthusiasts will rip into you because it must be your fault in some obscure way that your truck is a POS.
Um, no. More than a few of us have been through the buyback process. We know what’s legit and what is not. OP is on thin ice. We’re trying to help. He wants to vent. Which is fine, I did a little venting at one point. The truck may or may not be a POS that requires a buyback. The only way to find out is to put it back to stock and try to fix it.

The thing that makes it so painful is having to work with the dealership. They tend to be dishonest, incompetent, and they don’t want the work. But they have the monopoly, so it’s a price we have to pay if you need warranty work.

I had the black/blank screen issue for a week or so. My solution was to wait 15-20 seconds, maybe a minute before I put it in gear and take off. Think about your lap top, can you do much while it’s booting up? My theory was it was stopping non critical boot up and displaying safety systems, like back up camera and sensors. I wait until the XM radio preset pics are done, that’s my trigger to go. It has not done the blank screen is months. Just an idea to try.

Oh no I’m not saying it’s the manufactures problems at all, I stated somewhere in this thread that if they determine that it was because of my aftermarket bumper install that the truck was locking up, cool understood completely, but it’s difficult for me to believe that is the cause of the overall larger problem, although I can understand if it is as well. It just seems that most people in this thread are very quick to assume it’s 100% the bumper and relocation of the ACC meanwhile this isn’t an uncommon aftermarket modification to do. Could it be the mod? For sure. Just because it worked 99 times doesn’t mean it’ll work 100 times, but the likeliness of the mod cause the bigger issues cannot be as high as some are leading to believe.

The screen for me goes blank while driving. First time it happened I was going 70 on the highway and it shut down.
