Hey Everyone,
I purchased my first Raptor (2020 Leadfoot Gray w/ 36k miles) in December 2023. Prior to purchasing, I had only ever ridden passenger in 1 or 2 raptors, so I had minimal experience with them. The truck has been great and I never thought that it was laking power, but I always noticed that the turbos made a louder than normal "fluttering" noise at the top half of the boost band. It has always made me a bit suspicious, but I've driven it for 7 months now and haven't had any issues associated with it.
This past week I drove a buddies bone stock 2017 w/ 60k miles, and I immediately noticed that it his truck had much more pop, and none of the flutter noise that mine has. I had him drive my truck to get his thoughts, and he also immediately noticed the louder turbo flutter sound on my truck and not as much power.
To put it in the least technical terms possible - it seems like his truck / turbos are more efficiently sending air to the engine. My buddy also noticed that the blowoff on mine was significantly louder than his.
Anyone have any experience here or suggestions? Trying to avoid being the guy who takes it to the dealer saying "what's that funny sound when I press the go pedal" lol.
Appreciate the help
